Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Not too much obvious visual change again this week, but expect all sorts in 2 weeks time when the Uni buildings start to get demolished.
It was easy to get access in to these buildings this week as they're being emptied, so I was able to take a couple of shots from the top floor corner window.
Most of the workforce seemed to be congregated at the north end of the east stand for some reason?
JSFW 38B too.

Cannot believe all this is actually finally happening.. does anybody else know what I mean? All this waiting, all the appeals, and all the fighting... now it's actually happening, there's an actual stand. We can actually AFFORD to do it, and before long we'll be kicking off in a brand new stadium and climbing up the leagues :D

I know exactly what you mean mate,

2 marches to the Labour conference,
Letters to John Prescott,
Sit-in after the away game at Wycombe,to name a few.

Its taken years but seeing these pictures is helping slowly to erase the pain.

Yet somehow there isn't the mass excitement about the club and the "buzz" that we had after we came home to Withdean back in 1999... mind you, there hasn't been that much to be excited about for a few years..

Just wonder if/when the real buzz is going to start? Having been involved as much as I can be, writing letters, signing petitions etc, it just doesn't feel real yet!

I want to forsee magical scenes of dancing in the streets, Falmer t-shirts, every thread about the Albion.. but I can't see it!

Its still early days yet,i know a lot of people who refuse to go to Withdean(some of them i work with) and they all want a ST when it opens.
Also, our early season form has been poor.
A gradual progress on the field this season plus the development of Falmer, then by this time next season and hopefully with some summer signings plus all four stands erected. I think you will find more air of optimism.

Arrgh the first photo is scary...

Car park, portacabins, trees in the background. If that was the only shot, you would think they were building a new Withdean...

scroll and relax

Another couple of weeks and the steppy bit of the stand will be finished, if they carry on at the same pace, I am guessing that this will slow down as we go into winter and it takes longer for the cement to dry properly.

Im hoping in the Winter they will concentrate on the roof structure.

Agree......and I also love the way the construction is being documented in photographs so comprehensively! Wonder how many other clubs' new stadiums got quite so much attention from camera-brandishing fan / tourists, web threads and general scrutiny of every detail.

I'm lovin' it and proud not only in our future home, but of the 'photo-documentarists' (Jack Straw the outstanding pace-setter!!) that you kinda knew would appear!....there's someone for any occasion on NSC!

Tremendous work as always JS  Just thinking that the stadium currently looks like the Coliseum - perfect for hosting warm-up gladitorial events featuring lions and Falmer villagers

Paid a visit to the site this morning, which was the 1st time since the steelwork has started to be erected.
It bought a lump to my throat as i drove up the slip road from the a27 and looked right and the east stand. For those of you who have not yet visited the site, you seriously do not know what you are missing.
