To those concerned about the tree, it was a Sycamore, and indeed, permission was ashed for because yew need permission for this sort of thing. This was indeed granted by the Council.
Don't worry. There will be hundreds of new trees replanted as the stadium nears completion.
I'm going elm now, or I might walk along the beech!
Can someone please explain in simple terms what is going on in the picture. think I asked this before but can't remember. To me it looks like they are widening the road to make a new dual carridgeway?? why?
Indeed.
And after a few years, a veritable forest of trees will grow up again through the ivy and tumbleweed.
Sub-base to road widening on north side of Village Way all in place, compacted and ready for tarmac.
Top soil being graded on to bank leading down from this towards stadium site area.
Readymix concrete being poured in to holes on south side of Village Way.
Lots of contouring of land.
Each week the hole just gets bigger and bigger -Ooh Matron!
Yes really good but I have to say that without the funding in place for the stadium, when the works paid for by SEEDA are finished then unless things change it worries me that work will halt!!
Sorry to seem not so cheery!!

Ooooh! A bite.
Do you honestly think this will happen, tosspot?
Global financial meltdown. Property repossessions. Impossible mortgage repayments. The £ falling to an all-time low. Building industry in turmoil.
But a little Sussex football club looking at relegation/ oblivion are moving to a posh gleaming new stadium and this will make them a big club with lots more fans. They will start winning games and soon selling out to new rivals Chelsea.
Anyway good luck. I believe your new manager will be Maradona with Ossie Ardilles as number two.
