According to the SUN (yes, I know) we are looking to sign Chelseas Jack Cork and Arsenal's Henri Lansbury.

Cork is seeking a Transfer away from Chelsea after a loan at Burnley last season. Lansbury would be a loan option as Wenger rates him. Had a stormer on loan at Norwich last year.

Yes, it's a rumour. But I think it's one of the more interesting/believable ones. Would love to see either or both of them grace the Amex next season.

Thought i read that Jack Cork had already had bids received from certain clubs and maybe bids rejected from Leeds and Forest. I may be wrong though.

Henri Lansbury would be an amazing signing. He has one year left on his contract though, and if he doesn't extend Arsenal will look to cash in rather than on a free, and I think he could easily sign for a better club than us. He had injury problems a few years ago, but looked really good this last year, hes got a great engine and his passing range is top notch with his ability to pick long passes under rated.

He has looked for assurances of a career path with Arsenal before extending, and thats going to be hard to give, with the likes of Fabregas, Ramsey, Wilshire, Song, Diaby (even Nasri sometimes) ahead of him when they tend to only play 3 in mid and Wenger just gave assurances to Özyakup to get him to sign an extension.

I agree, its a tough one. He's a cracking player but due to the quality at Arsenal, he may well look to continue his development elsewhere. Mind you, he is still an excellent prospect and Wenger does not like to let them go easily...

Cork is Alan's son who still lives locally. Cant see why this would make him any more likely to sign for us but you never know...

Mentioned on SSN according to another thread on here.

I know people slag off the Sun as a comic, but their football reporting is usually pretty good where transfers are concerned, they are well connected. I would believe The Sun over the Argus.

I've seen Saints, Forest, Blackpool, Palace and ourselves all linked with Cork, so it would be a big ask.

Maybe he's big mates with Bridcutt, Sampoyo or Rogers?

I watched Cork play for Burnley against Forest last season and he ran the show. It would be an amazing signing, one hell of a talented player.

From my Arsenal mate re Lansbury:

Seriously? He would be an exceptional loan signing for you. But I really don’t think it will happen, Wenger seems to rate him very highly and has plans for him in the first team squad next season. If he was going to go on loan then I can see him going to a Premiership club, rather than the Championship.

In terms of what sort of player he is like…hmm, he’s primarily an attacking midfielder. Full of bustle, determination and heart, with no little technique. Kind of a Ray Parlour type with a touch more class is the way I see him. He is also a big personality which is always an asset in a squad. He was rated extremely highly at Arsenal when he was 16 ish but got struck down by glandular fever and missed a year or so of development, people forgot how much of a talent he is till now really. Plus, scoring on your debut against Spurs will always get the fans onside!

If you did get him on loan it would be a massive coup. But if I was a betting man I’d say there is no chance as he will be integrated slowly into Arsenal’s squad next season…

Benik Afobe is more realistic, plus perhaps someone like Craig Eastmond or even JET at a punt?

Saints and Blackpool have had a bid of 750k accepted apprently, well in our price range. Swansea may also be in for him, with Brendan Rodgers being his ex coach at the Chelsea Reserves, he wlll probably end up there.
