Well done to him, belief in his own ability that the big move will come so playing the long game. He needs to be playing games not warming up the keeper and sitting on his arse behind fat Rafa

Big clubs stunt too many young players development by signing them and having no intention of playing them.

It's very sensible. Goalkeepers need a regular starting position. Outfielders can be on the bench and expect an eappearance to impress. Keepers just don't get the chance. The season when Joe Hart was on loan was his most important learning experience. He had lower expectations on him and could make a few mistakes. Any game Butland played for Chelsea would be highly scrutinised

He'll still move to a premier league club so it isn't THAT big a risk saying no.

Talk that Liverpool are interested in which case he could oust Reina by the start of next season

Reina wants to go back to Barca doesn't he? Was there as a youth. Not sure can see it but they could do far worse and JB would be a good replacement I think
