There's probably a 'Ring of Bright Water' curry/otter gag in there somewhere as well...

Has this thread got confused with "If you could travel back in time" thread?

It seems to have warped into a 40 year old 'joke du jour' thread, back from the days when NSC was like this:

"Hallo, is that Mr Simster? One has a new posting for you to read on North Starned Chit. Would you like to proceed?"

"Rather!"

"Jolly good! Message is as follows. Mr Redland would like to inform North Starned Chit that one has just consumed a chicken tarka STOP It is like a chicken tikka but somewhat hotter STOP. Would one like to respond?"

"Indeed, indeed. Please contact Mr Redland with one of those new-fangled smillies. I would like the one where the character waves his football association rattle and the word 'hurrah' appears above him. Can you do that for me?"

"Certainly Mr Simster. Thank you for using North Starned Chit. And jolly good luck to The Albion, what!"

In ten years time there will be a women prime minister called margaret thatcher, there will be a pound coin, there will be more than 3 channels on the telly, Elvis will die a fat man, and this joke will be 100 years old.

That is very good, it must be said.

Much funnier than the original joke for me.
