A few days away at Glastonbury (or anywhere really) will do her more good than a few lessons in colouring in or whatever nonsense a year 2 class is doing at this time of year.
You reckon?
I’d be with you if it was a trip to the zoo or some famous place that was kid friendly but what ‘positive’ experience is a 6 year old getting from that? I can’t remember a thing about being 6 so it’s not some lasting memory. I know I wasn’t exposed to a drink/drug music festival and everything that goes with it though. Colouring in and that type of nonsense is what 6 year olds do.
The parents deserve a slap. Selfish fuckers.

Says a lot about UK education when it is seen as more beneficial for a kid to watch a load of young adults gurning their faces off on pills, puking in each others tents and throwing piss bottles into crowds, than actually go to school.

I remember stuff from when I was 6. I remember the family holiday from when I was 5 in Weymouth- and the overnight coach journey to Paignton when I was 4.

It'll do the kid no harm. She'll probably grow up loving music. I think it's okay as long as she's properly looked after.

Yes. I can remember a few snippets of being that age, it was bloody boring.

She'll get far more from going away and being around different people for a few days than she would being stuck in school for no particular reason.

There's a lot of stuff at Glastonbury. I'd be annoyed if her parents took her to the clubbing bit or something, but you can basically treat it as a camping holiday if you want to.

I thought you were going to say "....when it is seen as more beneficial for a kid to watch a load of young adults gurning their faces off on pills, puking in each others tents and throwing piss bottles into crowds than go to Glastonbury"

But kids don't actually just do colouring in in Year 2 - UK education system expects a lot of 6 year olds!

Not that a few days off will do her any harm, of course (depending on which areas of Glastonbury she's exposed to!!)

Maybe if you’d done similar when you were 6 you wouldn’t have grown up to be so cynical and had some memories of that age

Cynical? I took my kids out of primary school plenty of times, just not to go to the biggest ADULT music festival (piss up) in Europe.
Do you honestly think those parents are giving a single thought to the ‘life memories’ of their 6 year old?
