I agree, but Devil's Advocate....

Lets just say Toney scores hattricks against Spurs and Man City, Brentford gain 6 points and finish on 59 pts with +6 added to their GD (ie better than both Spurs and VIlla) and that meant they qualified for the Europa Conference.

That wouldn't be a good look for the FA either.
So he should have been banned back when he pleaded guilty to a bunch of the charges. We all knew he was going to be banned, but to start it with 2 games to go is a farce.

Ridiculous to ban him for 8 months and totally disproportionate.

Mitrovich shoves a ref, violent conduct and gets 8 games, Toney who is clearly addicted to gambling and has a problem, is not helped but banned for 8 months?

It's total BS....... feel sorry for Toney and Brentford fans as we all want to see such talented players play.. .

Some form of gambling community service and a big fine wouldve been far more sensible, but FA and sensible don't go together do they.

Toney is lucky he wasn't playing with Peter Swan.

That's two god-botherers done for betting relatively recently. Stuzza was the other. Perhaps they see praying as the best bet for eternal life?

Ah I missed it

Jesus, it must have been pretty offensive
It was nothing really.

But that is hardly the point.

Hope you're enjoying.....everything.

Precisely, what a complete farce
He’d already pleaded guilty before he played and scored at the Amex for them. I know this is Albion hat on but…. Doesn’t seem fair….

Ban should have started from the first game of next season - as said above, this would have been a life ban before football lost its senses.

The game that is sponsored up to the eye balls by betting companies handing an 8 month ban to a young player addicted to betting.

In an enlightened time someone might go...'hang on a minute..."

Fairest and most sensible option would have been to ban him for 19 games next season - one game against every other club, which in a normal year would be pretty much the first half of the season anyway.
People saying it seems excessive compared to other offences (Mitrovic for example) - I can understand their feelings, but Toney offended - what was it? - 260 odd times. A bit of totting up there, I reckon, reasonable enough.
