Yes the fly over just after 10pm seems to be the clearer longer version. Try tomorrow night if it's not cloudy.

Crystal clear skies made for a perfect viewing here in Brighton tonight :)

Although there were a few false alarms with various planes crossing the sky!

pretty decent of them to schedule the fly past just after Big Brother finished as well

I presume i saw it over the skys of Burgess Hill about 10 minutes ago. I'm assuming it's the really brighto light that practically shoots across the night sky then disappears?
That's the one - lasts for about 4 mins.

Was quite a great sight. Just incredible how fast it goes across the sky in comparison to planes that you see, and how bright it is......Haven't been able to see any meteors though!
The best time is after midnight up to 4am when we pass right through the Perseids. There should be as many as 60-100 in an hour. Look in the north east.

Have been looking just to the right (east) of Perseus but with not a great deal of luck. Will try in 45 mins or so

North east of the sky. The 'map' earlier in this thread helps to see what it looks like

The big dipper - Pegasus is very visible in the north so look just to the upper left of that.

We've been out watching the meteors. We went down to the beach but there were still some street lights so we went out on the Alfriston Rd to a viewpoint up on the Downs. There were a few people star gazing there. We saw quite a few meteors but the climax is between 2am and 4am.
Too late for me so we're off to bed.
