I thought apple were always the first to do things, my phones been doing this for at least a couple of years (probably not allowed on this thread)

Something Samsung has had for years and years. Oh soooooo old hat.

There are quite a few things Android have developed that iOS is catching up with. As an iOS user I'm glad we're catching up with some of the better ones. We can turn the thread into a iOS v Android willy waving debate if you like?

Well, you have got to catch up on the day you lost trying to update a phone that took me 10mins.

What. An. Operating. System.

Just when you think Apple can get no better, they knock it out of the park. Again. Incredible.

In my family we have 2x4s and 1x5. If I upgrade them to IOS8 will all the currently installed apps work OK? Genuine question.

I want to update mine via iTunes to save space but I have not connect to iTunes for a very long time, at least a year and the computer I used then is long gone so will it recognise the music I gone on it and save it or would I have to start again?

Apple claim the 4s is ok but other sites are suggesting it's not up to the job and won't handle all the features.

My 4S seems fine so far. Slicker than before even, but will wait and see. It's all backed up, so easy enough to reset to iOS7 if it slows it down.

Mine came back automatically. Have you tried reconnecting to the wifi?

Wifi is connected (either that or 3g has got lightening quick all of sudden) it just doesn't show at the top of the screen that it is on wifi just GPRS/3g/4g/no signal/etc.

Have read somewhere it might be something to do with the carrier settings and they may need updating but they steps to do that tell me I'm good.

EDIT: Did the age old classic of switching it off and back on again and hey presto it's back.

For an upgrade that is supposed to be Apples biggest since the app store was introduced, it offers very little new functionality that I like. The keyboard is better and more to the point I can now use swiftkey which was the one thing that I used to like about my old Android device. Apart from thatthere is very little day to day.

I think the family sharing could be good when I have upgraded all the kids ipads and ipods.

Not a lot else to write home about.

Anyone got any idea why my iMessage isn't working anymore since the update? It tells me that I need to activate iMessage, which requires my Apple ID and password, but when I input this through settings it says that there's a network connection issue. I'm connected via wifi though. Does it need me to be on 3G or 4G for some reason?

The missus had this on her iPhone yesterday.

Reset network settings, the phone will reboot and you should be good to go.
