SpaghettiO's,

Circular pasta shapes in tomato sauce. Versions with small hot dog sausages are also available. Invented by Ralph Miller they are now a stable diet of students.

I read that as "rather than gyrating towards any one area."
I had a lovely picture in my mind of lots of Japanese people dancing down the street.
:jester:

I also prefer that version.

Duly changed.

Old Town Bridge

Some massive essay about a very uninteresting pedestrian bridge in Trondheim. I like Norwegians and Norway but they can sometimes tend a bit towards self-obsession.

"It is also called "Lykkens portal" (The Gate of Happiness/Luck), after Oskar Hoddø's waltz "Nidelven stille og vakker du er"." Enough, already.

Šentjur pri Celju, as I'm sure you knew, is a Slovenian muncipality located near the city of Celje. It takes its name from dragon-slaying legend Saint George, who features prominently on the city's coat of arms.

Blimey!

Uncannily, I just got "Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys". A band from San Francisco, apparently.

"Everything came to an abrupt end in 1992 when Buck Naked was shot while walking his dog in Golden Gate Park's 'Panhandle' by a man named Michael Kagan, an obsessive pigeon feeder. Kagan had threatened to kill anyone who disturbed his beloved pigeons - Buck Naked and his dog provoked him enough to kill."

Gin Palace - lavish bar selling Gin.

in the 1820's their design was based on the fashionable shops and gas lit - their design was influential in the building of Victorian pubs - with the counter designed for swift service and including large mirrors.

You can see the style at the Princess Louise at Holborn.

Which is a top pub come an evening in the summer.

LANGWELL

Langwell is a river in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, one of the two rivers, along with Greylin, that meet in the far north to form the beginnings of the Anduin river.

On its northern bank was built the city of Framsburg, capital of the Éothéod.

........Well bugger me, I never new that!
