Good old Offside by the Sea!!!

does fergusley park (not sure if spelt correctly) fall into the areas you mentioned

Ferguslie is a fairly common place name, but the only Ferguslie Park I know of - which is where the new St Mirren ground is being built - is in Paisley, and thus Renfrewshire Council's area.

It would be nice to hear opposing fans sing "You're a town with a proportionately higher than average number of homosexuals living there but considering a lot move to Brighton from outside AND given the way that gay issues are treated by football generally the chances are that there's not a lot of gays in the stand and therefore the majority of you lot are heterosexually inclined".

I like it.

Only one flaw I can spot with it though: We're a city, not a town these days.</pedantic>

;)

Try reading Private Eye and you'll change your views. Guaranteed. Some of the ways in which local councils are run (especially Northern councils) as personal fiefdoms is criminal...quite literally. Just take a look at Doncaster (known as Donnygate) or some of the Scottish ones.

Well, I think to be fair Rotten Boroughs has also highlighted somepretty dodgy dealings in other parts of the country as well, The Isle of Wight being a good example much nearer to Sussex.

But the column does reveal some of its main writer's obsessions. He lives in Lewes, is anti-Falmer and never hesitates to have a go at Brighton & Hove Council.

The "Alan Partridge-like" lifestyle I'm living in the hotel at the moment though is starting to do my head in a bit though

Have you worked out how to angle your hotel room TV so you can watch Bangkok ChickBoys from your bathroom yet?
:p

It maybe grim, but its more socialable

That depends where you go. When I first got married and moved north, I went to Dewsbury. That is where my first husband's family lived. I posted on the Shannon Matthew's thread that people in Dewsbury were strange.
As my ex hubby was forces, we got a council house for a few years until we got the deposit for our own house. Hardly any of the neighbours would even speak to me as I was told I was 'too posh' for them. My ex got a job as a sales rep when he was demobbed. He got a car with the job (only a Cortina) which was egged.
There is (or was) an great deal of inverted snobbery in some areas.

We're the offside, we're the offside, we're the offside Brighton boys.

Offside till we die, we're offside till we die. :D
:lolol: very good - nice to know that the tradition of seated stand humour is still thriving...

Freindly and easier birds, low property prices........

Everyone yesterday laughing at the song and then driving back down south to their 1 bd flat thats 600 per month.

If you live in the right area up north...your sorted....

i was paying 700 a month for a flat in salford so it's not the great cheap fantasy people think.

the north is over-rated, it's a grass is greener situation boys.

we're all english aren't we, it's all the same. chester is nicer than crawley, brighton is nicer than stockport.

You can find expensive property evn in the most run down places in britain....like middlesboro...etc

But up and around cheshire, yorkshire and lancashire....you can rent of buy property in lovely villages for a snip compared to a reletively simular village/countryside down south...it doesnt add up to me.

Guess it then comes down to personal preference. Id like a nice house....than a flat or a council house down south
