[Football] It's about time this Locadia experiment was bought to an end

People wonder why March is untouchable? He offers Montoya cover when defending which is what CH recognises/demands.

What I don't understand is why CH persists with Locadia on left with Bong. He must see it? I see it and I'm "not very good". On occasions I have seen Loc up front in Glens spot, with Glen out on the right, and Bong is just left out to hang and dry. But CH is on the touchline with Bong swinging in the wind, and doesn't do anything? He must see it? I don't understand. Seen this over the last few games, but it seems to persist.

Ah well, probably the strikers that lost us this one, as should have been out of sight at HT. Anyone that thought we were safe (and I'm pretty confident CH didn't), needs this reality check.

Nothing to do with Stephens being caught in possession when we were on the attack then?

Tend to agree with this. Scapegoatism as usual.....and we don’t have much in the way of alternatives if we’re sticking with this formation at the moment anyway. Knockaert looks so far away from the player he can be (his decision-making is shockingly bad) and Jose and Ali aren’t available. The sooner we have competition for March and Jurgen the better.

It’s not scapegoatism though is it?

Do you think Locadia played well?

Hopefully Izquierdo or AJ can come back soon. Knockaert is off-form, but he offered more tonight almost immediately than Locadia (who for the second game was poor).

Locadia was poor tonight, lazy at times and wasn't great against West Brom. I'd like to see him play more centrally, after all he was signed as a striker, let's see what he can do there but time to drop him from the wing role.

Totally agree with this. I always thinks those that don’t really understand think that criticism is scapegoatism! Locardia is no winger and can’t play down the middle. He did ok for a couple of games but he really isn’t good enough if we have any ambition as club!

No I don’t think he did, but neither did about 6-7 others, particularly in the second half and where we (CH) were tactically undone by Ranieri. Dunk got absolutely owned by Mitrovic (but starting a thread about him being shit would be heresy), Bong probably partially culpable for 2 of the goals, Ryan brought back too early, Stephens lucky to stay on, March, as usual, playing ball after ball then standing still and watching it rather than making a run (really does my head in)..............and Knockaert seems to have forgotten that he’s not 12 years old and has to show off by trying to run through anyone in front of him.

Clearly not at tonight’s game then he was embarrassing. Can’t head can’t tackle can’t go round a defender , first thought always to check back a lay a ball sideways . Stood on his own on edge of box for one of there corners didn’t have a clue . Biggest waste of money club have ever spent . Knocky every day of the week should never of been dropped early in the season for March when he was by far our best player , Hughton has destroyed his confidence

I'm pleased you said he should never of been dropped.

From what I’ve seen Gyokeres is a viable option.

I'm really pleased you put in the bit questioning whether we have any ambition as a club. It must be highly questionable given all that's gone on in the last five years.

He did clap the fans when going off, that has to count for something?

I am really confused. Earlier in the season people were moaning that we did not attack enough and now people are moaning that Locadia does not defend enough!?
Come on people, make your bloody minds up. You can not moan about being too defensive and then when we play a wide player who attacks but does not cover his full back well then complain that we are not defensive enough.
Good post. Don't expect an intelligent response from the NSC boo boys.

Thought he just went M.I.A tonight (like many others), but I'm getting concerned about our overall squad's mediocrity. Most of us felt this season we had more depth and options but broadly speaking I see little or no improvement from last year. I still think we have enough to stay up but lose to Watford and Burnley and we will be in serious sh*t. At this moment in time I'm not convinced we'll surpass last year's points total to be honest.

Our fans are twats. People got the hump because we won 3 games on a trot 1-0 and played to our strength, which is keeping it tight.

And I'm not moaning that Locadia doesn't defend enough. He's simply not good enough defensively....or offensively, at this level.

I’m afraid this is how I saw it, as did most on the coach......

He was woeful defensively tonight, offered Bong literally nothing.

Although Bong's 'defending' in that second half where he essentially just offered the opposition free shots on goal was nothing short of shocking.
