What he said. The sooner that these two monstrosities are forced out of B&H the better. I still remember Paynter ranting against the floodlights at the cricket ground even though she lives half a mile away. grrrrrrrr

Glad I moved house last year !!! I used to live in Princes Ave, a couple of hundred yards from the King Alfred.

Dread to think what it would be like living around that area when it's built with potentialy 750 extra cars to find parking for !!!!!!

i think they've f***ed up pretty badly with this, especially, as you say, with parking

its gonna be bedlam down there

hopefully the public transport system in that area, which atm is pretty non-existant, will get a bit of an overhaul

still haven't quite made my mind up about the design either...

Just far enough away from LDC
The issue is that the likes of the Falmer objectors are giving legitimate objectors a bad name - the tactics employed have so offended many people that any body with a concern about a development is treated with similar disdain.

Absolutely. And the NOTEs and NOPEs as well. They ARE admittedly a tad out of character but I don't give a toss. In yer face Regency Society!

my main objection is the sports center seems to be an afterthought, just to give these guys the excuse to make millions out of two huge high rise eyesores.

i agree

the reason for the redevelopment was that our main sports centre was a complete shit hole, and utterly inadequete for a city our size

they seem to be making a load of flats, with a sport centre kinda added on

It would be utter traffic bedlam down there if they were ever stupid enough to build a development on that location WITH parking for everyone.

There's nothing new or wrong about car-free property developments - people know that they're designated as such when they buy property there so I doubt'll you'll be able to get a residents parking permit if you live there.

I can understand renovating that area but those towers look shit and I would be well gutted if that was being plonked in front of where I lived as you won't see the sea and the sunlight will be blocked.

i doubt you'd be able to see the sea now if you lived behind the current king alfred?

I bet in the top of most buildings round there you can just see the horizon.

We would be extremely foolish to under-develop the site, as we are not blessed with a great deal of brownfield land.

The sport centre should be world class, as HOK have been involved with a large variety of superb developments through out the world. Transport will be a major issue, but I am confident the infrastructure can be improved and it is close enough to Hove Station to be viable for commuters.

the seas a pretty big thing, it may block their view directly infront of them, but it can't take much effort to look left or right SURELY?:)
