It was a great day.It was darned hard to get a ticket, but there were 20 or so Germans in front of me at Wembley.Got some sort of package from their home country and had come because it was the Cup Final; THE Cup Final. But I wondered what any Albion fan without a ticket would have thought.
.

I expect they'd have been far more pissed off if they'd known that a Brighton employee allegedly sent Albion tickets to be sold in Manchester

Loads of Manure in our end, I remember an older lad from Portslade jumping down onto the lower tier to kick it off! Don't suppose many of todays youngsters can even imagine Brighton taking on United on the terraces!

Also in the replay it all kicked off in the lower tier just as the second half was about start

Here a ball played forward for Michael Robinson to chase, Robinson going forward strong, he's inside the Manchester United penalty area he finds Smith and Smith must score.....

One of the first in the stadium when the gates opened.

Stood on the terraces behind the goal where Smith did score.

I remember screaming 'WATCH WILKINS!' as Utd came towards our end with the ball out on their left. Five seconds later the ball was in the the back of our net after Wilkins hit it from the edge of the box.

..... and he hasn't! And Bailey has saved it ! And there's the final whistle!

...and he hasn't scored and Bailey has saved it. Absolutely remarkable, Robinson just holds his head in hands, Smith just had to score there. Robinson went inside the defender, kept his head stroked the ball to Smith all he had to do was just push the ball past the goalkeeper. And there goes the whistle for the end of extra time and Gordon Smith will remember that moment for a very very long time indeed.
