Very well done to Croatia tonight. In no way were they going to roll over, or not try as they had already qualified. They clearly wanted to win the game, and in the spirit of sportsmanship, well done.
Absolutely deserved, showed when you work as a team with strong leadership exactly what can be acheived. Let's not be mistaken, they outperformed our egocentric twats.
Croatia, apart from a dodgy five mins looked in total control of that game and there can be no doubting that they made us look the 2nd rate footballing nation that we are. Yes the manager takes the blame but most of the players out there last night were out of their depth.
Anyone else gutted they let their misplaced sense of patriotism stop them getting on Croatia at 7-1? I bloody am. Looking at the way they played, they had to be the most generous odds in gambling history - they passed and controlled the ball effectively on a shit pitch, something singularly beyond our lot, attacked us at every opportunity breaking extremely quickly when they could, and generally did everything intelligently apart from giving away the pen.
Can any England players have had worse performances last night than Wayne Bridge and, one noble exception aside, Scott Carson? I was in favour of Robinson's being dropped I have to say, but Carson may never recover from that as an England player.
I now have to go to work, surrounded by a mixture of similarly depressed fans and irritating rugby/non sport fan berks who will simply have no idea why I'm so pissed off. Great.
