Ours is usually up around mid-December, then back in the loft on 2nd Jan (generally too hung over to do anything on NYD).

My son , when sharing a flat with 2 other late teens/ early 20s lads, did leave theirs up all year.

It just got renamed every couple of weeks or so, Valentines tree, Easter Tree , Matts Birthday tree, etc etc etc.

The 8 year old cat broke our artificial tree in half a few years ago. She had got better, but the kitten is still manic. The tree will stay packed away this year.
