Is Tommy Fraser the new Oatway?

I have not seen as much of him as many, but thought he had a very good game yesterday. A bit of creativity alongside him and the midfield could start to support the front two. I would like to see him given a run in the team because he has always shown the fighting spirit needed.

Not yet, but could be with the right man in there with him. Maybe Burchill in there with him could make him the new Charlie Oatway. But that means we HAVE to sign someone on the wing and I don't mean someone who can't cross, or not beat the first man!

He's certainly taken his chances since he's been back in the team, hopefully his progress will continue.

I was really impressed with the improvement of Fraser from last season. He runs himself into the ground as usual - but he was showing some really good touches and control. If he can lift his head a bit he will better still. Plenty of time. A much better prospect than he has appeared.

I have no problem with Fraser in midfield, as long as it is not El Abd with him as it nevers works, it is so predictable and boring with them 2 there and can someone check (as I have a life), but almost sure that we have never won a game with them 2 in midfield. We only started playing yesterday when they split up, so I was told.

I like Fraser- not just for his improvement, but his passion for Brighton is immense!

I ruddy love Tommy Fraser.

But we need a midfielder who gets ahead of the ball and occupies defenders to play alongside him.

Currently, we have hardly anyone willing to join in attacks and burst into the box.

Fingers crossed Jason Jarrett is that man.

Fraser is not a cultured footballer, but his natural agression, will to win and obvious passion for the Albion makes him an important player for us. He is definitely future captaincy material but the coaching staff need to improve his alround passing game - otherwise League 1 will be his limit.

Funnily enough, I think Fraser is potentially a much better player than Oatway but wonder whether Charlie could bring a bit of spark to training and the Albion bench.

Fraser has more quality than Oatway but hasn't developed the physical presence yet. If he had an experienced player who put their foot on the ball next to him, talking him through games and showing by example Fraser could be a very good player for us.

All we need now is a couple of wingers, a back up striker, Lynch back and a new manager and we will be going places.

Amen, but some of our fanbase are expecting the complete player at...what?....21?

Yeah, but some brief glimpse of talent wouldn't go amiss.

If we are looking for a brief glimpse, then surely the Leeds game last year would be a useful example. I think he is unfairly criticised by some quarters (i.e. You :D). I appreciate that you watch The Albion more than me, but he is streets ahead of some of the dire players that have adorned the stripes. He is NOT as bad as you would have us believe.

I do cringe at the justification that he is a 100%er. I would give more than 100%, but I do not deserve a starting berth.

The thing that annoys me is that people are ultra supportive of youth team players despite them continually showing NOTHING to suggest they might make it.

But aren't you the opposite extreme? There are a lot of people in Essex who actually think Hammond was a bargain. You ranted on your keyboard against him.

Ifill sensibly never signed for Brighton. Gareth Barry, stating Les Rogers was his main influence, joined Villa. No wonder Lynch has now gone.

Playing for other Div 1 clubs, Fraser wouldn't have to put up with ill-informed comments from somebody who doesn't understand that midfield players are also meant to be stopping the other side from playing.spend
