Is Tommy Fraser the new Oatway?

High up on the South Downs.
Ran himself into the ground yesterday and set up the crucial first goal with an exquisite cross. Personally think he is a better player than Charlie. What's more he upsets the moan crew who drone on about creative (meaning pretty) midfielders.
It is a pity we didn't sign Westlake to play alongside him.

Fraser is not half the player Oatway was, he doesn't have the presence Oatway had which is why he isn't an effective midfield player. He runs around a lot but does very little of any note, he needs a player like Hammond/Carpenter (of old) in alongside him.

Good post, I think, what the moaners don't seem to realise is that you need a player like Fraser to do the donkey work at our level , What we need is a more creative player alongside him.

Could be - but not yet.

They appear to have the same temprament (up and at 'em, in yer face, don't bottle, never say die etc), but in Charlie's case, it came with experience. Fraser is still a bit too raw, but the similarities shouldn't be dismissed.

Could Birchall do this job along side Fraser and we sign an out and out winger not him but in the Seb Carole Paul Brooker mould who can take on and go past a player and then cross into the box.

Seb Carole couldn't cross, but you make a good point, the idea of having Fraser and Birchill in the middle is a good one.

Just need someone who can cross and can, a) beat the first man and if they can do that, b) not be about 18 stone of fat bastard who is oft injured.

One thing's for sure El Abd AND Fraser in the middle is NEVER EVER going to work.

Fraser has more quality than Oatway but hasn't developed the physical presence yet. If he had an experienced player who put their foot on the ball next to him, talking him through games and showing by example Fraser could be a very good player for us.

All we need now is a couple of wingers, a back up striker, Lynch back and a new manager and we will be going places.

At the moment he isn't as good as Oatway at his best, but Tommy is only 21 and has the potential to be a vastly superior player the the enthusiastic but limited Oatway.

Fraser get's a very harsh time on here. Remember he's not played many and is still at the start of his career and hardly has an experinced player to guide him through games.

It take's time to make your mark, Hammond took a couple of years. Stop knocking him. he puts the effort in, has a bit of skill and, if nurtured correctly, I also think he could be a future captain of the club.

I thought he had a goodish game on Tuesday (but then he should do against Luton). At times playing really well and at others was shockingly inept. He seems to be a 4 or 7 man which is dangerous.

I have changed my mind about everything. I am now Adams in. Fraser is a genius and we will power up the table under their guidence to a steady 4th by May.

yes from what i saw yesterday he looked what we are missing in that advanced midfield role

One thing's for sure El Abd AND Fraser in the middle is NEVER EVER going to work.

there is no doubt about that both good ok played alongside the right person but not togeather.there were times yesterday when the ball dropped to these 2 on the edge of the box and there both looked clueless what is hard about hitting the ball? cheltenham forced a couple of good saves out of sully and scored a goal from similar positions

Didnt MA try to sign Saun Teale

please tell me micky didnt try to sign that old has been he must be in his last 40's by now !!!!!! think you mean gary teale
