I am unsure about these gillespie rumours. Personally, I would absolutely LOVE him to join the Albion - he has such flair and seems to perform well against all opponents.

As they have already rejected a bid of 400,000 (350,000 + 50,000 if they get promoted) then you can reckon we would have to find at least half a million squid. If we can find that kind of money, then we really are on the up!

The most exciting pre-season in recent memory has to be 2000. We finished tenth in the previous season and the signings of the likes of Zamora, Brooker, Steele, Kuipers and Jones had us singing "We're going up as f***ing champions" before a ball was kicked at Southend... and we were right. Plus, we hadn't won a thing in years. As exciting as things may be, they're not on anywhere near the same scale... yet.

get away! i was there and we were hoping and half-expecting a 4th division championship.
