Ah Paul Clark, what a lump he was, great midfielder. I remember seeing him in EP when I was about 15 and thought he looked like Teddy Maybank so asked him to sign an autograph for me as Maybank
Is this the greatest ever BHAFC football team ?
I have been supporting the team since 1972 and I would have to say. Yes. Results will come. We have an amazing squad of players now. The second 11 would probably walk the Championship
Of course it is.
Is this the most positive thread ever, following a defeat?
Barry Lloyds 87/88 team would smash them.
Not to mention a ball weighing about two kilograms (and more when wet)! The football played in the late 70s was "of it's time" Is it possible to compare different eras. If my great heroes, Jimmy Greaves, Peter Ward etc, were subject to present day regimes of training, fitness and tactical awareness, I'm sure they would still be superstars. I was looking at the pitch quality today (perfect) How would today's players fare on the mud heaps of the seventies ? Games today would be postponed if they were in that condition.
Strange,
I thought he was a defender.
That's scary. They're all still 20ish in my head.Don’t be silly, they will all be in their 60’s by now
Who would be a modern equivalent of Michael Robinson? If the aim of playing football is to win matches, then no. Mike Bailey's team that finished 13th was superb at getting wins. We haven't got a striker anywhere near as good as Michael Robinson or a midfield player with the craft and know-how of Jimmy Case.
