I thought RDZ was a bit Bielsa and was partly responsible for the dreadful injury crisis. What this is saying is they are running harder now. It's a worry.

We are clearly the best we have ever been though. Lets hope their legs don't fall off though.

I was with you up to there.

My interpretation is we are training better and running smarter. Plus we have a new tranche of bloody fast young players.

(sorry to apparently keep picking on you. Somehow I suspect we own minds that will never meet  ).

We're probably not that far apart. I'm certainly not saying we are Bielsa's Leeds. But we are clearly working the players very hard. Hopefully as you say the fact they are young (in the main) and we also have a far stronger squad (certainly in attack) should help. But you won't know until the end of the season as to whether this has worked out. We bloody look great though don't we, that much we can surely agree on!

Probably YES, but there were some things I really enjoyed about playing in the lower divisions.

A couple of points on this:
1, there was a thread a while back on how there was very little intensity in training under RDZ, and it was the contrast between the match-day expectations and the laxer training that contributed to the injury situation last season.
2, this season we've got a far better squad, which means that there's more rotation in game, spreading the load more.

I think this goes to show that I have too-freely accepted what I have read on NSC as gospel, without any actual evidence of my own.

Bad scientist :lolol:

I do it myself. I take it as generally accepted that Ferguson has been recovering from glandular fever, and then when I go to check that that actually happened, I find it’s been suggested on here. And I’ve parroted it like the mug punter I am.

recency effect, overlooking end of 2023 season, with that midfield and the wingers.

I prefer playing in this league, especially if we have a chance in the cups or a chance of Europe. When in the lower Leagues, the only goal was promotion, and if that didn't happen it felt crap.

22-23 was clearly the best at that point, so that’s the only comparison that needs to be made.

Notwithstanding that some players appear in both teams, the 22-23 best 11 versus this season’s best would be a hard one to call. 22-23 had the better midfield (for now) but this seaons’s attack is better and Bart is a better keeper than Steele and Sanchez.

The main difference between 22-23 and now is depth, though. On that basis this season’s squad is clearly the best we’ve ever had.

I am almost convinced it was me that diagnosed it.

Never mind that I'm not a physician.
