When I saw the title of this thread I was thinking which Springsteen song would I choose because there are so many. But as you say he has a back catalogue which is so good - for me I like his earlier songs the best from the youthful optimism to the more crninical Darkness on the Edge of Town - which is my favourite album.

Yep ! One of the greatest rock songs ever written. My personal favourite at the present time is 'Worlds apart'. Is there any limit to this guy's talent ? I was lucky enough to see Springsteen at The Brighton Centre on two consecutive nights in May '81, during 'The River' tour. Referring to him merely as a genius, is a way of insulting him.
