[Albion] Is there anything that is actually going well at this football club?

I don’t really care about league position as long as we can see progress on the pitch and say yep when this clicks we will be a force. I see us going backwards this season unfortunately.
We went backwards yesterday, for sure.
But we are still higher up the league than we finished last season
The direction of general travel is uncertain.

Man Citeh are definitely going Full Steam backwards by your criteria.

Perhaps if we sack Fab we can hire Pep?

If missing matches and narrowly avoiding hospitalisations was classed as happy days, may I suggest you go down West Street before the Chelsea game, goad their fans, get chased, and miss the last transport to the match. You should suddenly feel a rejuvenating surge of contentment.

Well done on the Plymouth fare dodge. I managed Leicester once.
Are you mad I was 18 then and could out run most people 🤣

Those days the ticket clipper tended to avoid the football fans carriage 😀

Spuds have had progress on the pitch transforming from a turgid watch to a highly entertaining watch, so if you were a Spuds fan, you wouldn't be worried about their current league position?

How are you defining "progress" and what's the measure of it, if it's not linked to league position - I'm genuinely really interested in your reasoning!

What is really frustrating for me is that under the first part of last season with Roberto, we had a good solid team but in the second half of the season we were poor and it seemed obvious Roberto was going to leave. Some great memories though from that year.

Having subsequently spent so much money this pre season, I was hoping that we would have a stronger squad and be pushing top 6/7/8 with greater depth but since November we haven’t really progressed. Man City at home was a great result but in hindsight that was the start of their decline.

I’m struggling to think when we have last performed consistently in both halves of a game. It feels a bit like now how it was under Potter‘s early days. Our insistence on possession football allows teams to get back in defence and we have no element of surprise or “bullying” the opposition defence.

Yes. Yes there is :

- Squad oozing with the some of the worlds top young talent
- ...including several players that can go for £50m+
- We're minted (one of the richest clubs in Europe now)
- Despite recent results, we're still comfortably mid-table
-... and with an outside chance of Europe
- And despite recent results, we're still great to watch., most of the time
- Still in the cup... and you never know...
- Quality stadium
- Quality training ground
- Quality chairman and CEO

Any more?

Let's not forget where we came from. Yesterday's result was a disaster - but all things considered, things are pretty damned healthy at this football club.

Bring on the next fixture.

COYS!
What makes you think people need to be reminded of all this?

I want to be entertained for my hard earned. If we had gone hell for leather against Everton for example & hit the post 8 times and lost 1-0 so be it.
If I wanted walking football I may as well play the game myself.

Just completed the double over Man U.

There's a fair few years i've been following the albion, I would have never thought that possible
As 2024/25 football achievements go, it’s right up there with restricting Forest to only seven

Higher up now than where we FINISHED last season… the way this is going, we will definitely be lower at the end of the season.
We’ve been going backwards for a while now. Since the autumn we have only managed to play 45 mins of good football in any given game. This is such a talented squad but it’s all so stop/start…

Maybe it will come good but it all just feels wrong.

If Pep has a plan B I’m in. Bring back Spanish days🙃
Citeh fan calling 6-0-6 suggests now that Citeh should replace Pep with Fab.
I shit you not.

If you still have that Balaclava, meet me at the King and Queen at eleven and we can drive him up there

You haven't been paying attention to NSC properly, young man.

"Hopeless recruitment....wrong appointments....need Winstanley back...."

and just behind the lips, bursting to break free and taste the cool winter air: "sack the board".

It's all here on North Stand Bott.

(People will scream and scream until they're sick)
I did see the perma Gardner Ashworth mentioned a few times which was surprising as he left for a taste of the blood money.

Yesterday was very wrong.
But tomorrow, yesterday will seem so far away.

I was entertained yesterday - more fun than watching two counter attacking teams sitting deep and grinding out a goalless draw.

I guess entertainment is subjective........ we had 10 shots on goal yesterday, but only one hit the woodwork - would progress be defined as hitting the woodwork more?
