Is there actually any truth in the Glenn Murray speculation?

I am not fickle and I am a Brighton supporter.
If Murray returns, I will cheer him on because he is playing for the club I love. But I will do so without any excitement or joy, in the same way that he will wearing the shirt because he is a professional footballer and that's his job.
Murray is no lover of our club, and this would be strictly business.

Those who want Muzzer back again, should they be called Muzzerlims?

Hate to disappoint but I would say it is 'business' for about 95% of our players

When it comes to strikers, can we do nothing other than re-sign our old players?

Perhaps we should limit ourselves, so that any new signing has to be picked from the stands.:lolol:

But Eddie Howe has stated its not happening so we need to move on quickly

Managers say a lot of things, particularly if negotiations are ongoing. I wouldn't take Eddie Howe's comments as necessarily being the end of the matter.

Is there any evidence to suggest Murray has anything against the Albion?

The guy is a true professional, the whole Palace thing is pathetic and we need to get over it.

14 pages speculating about a return of a player with his best years behind him. While mboro casually sign up Gaston ramires, Jordan Rhodes and maybe Alex Pritchard.

We are just not on the right level for promotion yet......

In the unlikely event that Boro don't go up they are fooked. Not sure I'd like to see us gamble like that, although part of me would!

I really despair of the Albion being so shit at signing strikers though and it can't all be down to budget. There are quality young strikers around we just never find them or sign them. In five years we have managed to find/sign just the one

Very clever (possibly) how he worded it as didn't say it wasn't happening. He said he's a part of their future plans...

Doesn't mean it's not gonna happen if the player wants out of course...

Brighton fans are so deluded it's really quite scary!

Glenn Murray quite simply has scored goals everywhere he's gone, yes he might have his best years behind him (They were at Pal*ce) but I genuinely feel he's simply our best option at this moment in time, last season he proved that at Reading where he scored for fun. What would the anti Murray brigade have us do, go spunk 7-10 million on a random foreigner like Calleri?? Anyone who knows anything about football knows that is not how business savvy clubs are run & that thankfully is not how we are run either.....that kind of risk can be taken by premiership clubs, it always raises my eyebrow when you see the likes of QPR or Cardiff or Pompey do it when desperate to get out the division. Who knows how a foreigner will adapt, how quickly he will settle, how quickly he will get to know what not only English football is like but the cut and thrust of the championship with Saturday-Tuesday games in freezing cold temperatures.

Due to strikers being massively over priced the only other option we have is to chase the likes of Bamford, Ulloa or Gayle but again its a 6-7 million gamble and if it doesn't pay off then your chasing your arse financially. We all want promotion and it's fair to say were ready now but we have to be clever in how we do it.

Now we have a creative winger who can put a ball on a sixpence the best option is Glenn Murray, with balls in the box like AK can deliver, Murray will score and that's all we want and need is goals.

That last season at Withdean was all about Murray. He was easily the most influential member of the club.

Gus's ego couldn't handle the fact that the team could hardly scrape a win without the player. Gus had to make the Amex all about him which meant getting rid. So he fell hook line and sinker for CMS to persuade the board we didn't need Murray.

I assume Murray loved playing here. You don't play that well without that. He was head and shoulders the best player in Div 1 that year.

So Murray must have been gutted to leave.

Palace are the only club that offer him the contract he wants so he goes there.

And some people hate him for it.

That makes sense.
