That side qualified for the Europa league in 2013 and that may have been what helped relegate them.
Traditionally a top 10 Spanish team and play in a 56,000 capacity stadium. Have the (previous) King as a fan and rich history of success.
They'll be odds-on to win the division this season. Especially after making a couple of high-profile signings already this summer.
Little comparison, really. Remember when Newcastle were relegated? Or West Ham? It's like that. It's not as if we're playing Elche.

The result isn't important but I would hope that fact we barely had enough players to put out a proper team focuses some minds and the club get a move one with bringing in the new signings we badly need.

Can't help but think this friendly is a complete waste of time. No strikers and limited sub options. What can Sami learn from this. If he doesn't get some signings soon I can see him leaving before the season starts let alone when it ends. Surely Burke has identified someone. Let's hope that we go signing happy when they return tomorrow. Shame we couldn't sign Daniel Pacheco who Sami knew from the Liverpool days.

Huge gulf in quality tonight. Not surprising when comparing size of club and players available.
Good solid ninety minutes for those with younger legs and, with the next two games against weaker opposition, this challenge will undoubtedly have been of benefit.
