It really is an utter shite place to live and work. I am working 50 plus hours a week just to stand still and not get into debt. I spend 80% of my waking hours at work and the other 20% am too knackered to do anything. You cannot go out as it has rained non stop for a year now and it must be the windiest place on earth, when was the last day there was not a gale raging, sometime in April I think, its not good for the wig you see, BHAFC are shite, Falmer is a joke, Everyone wants to blow us up, everyone hates us, the costs of housing and living is absurd, the youths of today are bone idle and rude, we should be paid to live in this shitty country

What can i say here i to felt like this last year so packed up and moved out to Turkey 12 months time has just flew by

we own our house brought it 3 years back for £18,000 4 bed semi det triplex we have a huge pool we curently get 18% intrest a month on our money in the bank

life is laid back the locals are mostly good there are a few that drive you nuts but as you pick up the lingo it gets better

Beer is about 90 pence :drink: eating out is cheap :braders:

But you will miss :albion2::albion2::albion2::albion2:

But up to this point i think we have made the right decsion

I don't think us Brightonians have as much to complain about as someone living in, for example Yorkshire.

WHilst I get pissed off with paying through my nose for tax, generally apart from that, life is good down in this part of the world. We generally have the best weather in the UK, we don't usually get flooded due to the hilliness of Brighton. We don't have the problems with the immigrant communities that places like Bradford and Oldham do as we are generally a more laid back society down here and are more liberal.

Yes, things aren't perfect at the moment, but i'd rather be here than somewhere like Glasgow, Oldham or London!

Absolutely spot on. We get far more sunshine down in Sussex than Yorkshire. I lived for 33 years oopp north and it was the best thing I did in my life getting back to Sunny Sussex.

Exactly - it's often a case that people think the grass is greener on the other side, but when they get there, it's just a muddy ploughed field next to a University Campus and a dual carriageway!

Chaps, I cant wait to f***ing get out.

Get yourself down to FRANCE, i've just bought a ten (YES ten) bedroom house for£300,000, i'm going to do a few days work in the UK each week just to tide things over and life is just f***ing SUPERB.

No gangs of hoodies, no little ****s playing rap shit on their mobiles on the train, in fact no immigrant SCUM of any discription, just lots of English exiles moaning about how shit England has just got !

So living in France and being English doesn't make YOU an immigrant then?:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Jeez! What a shitty Summer! What a deeply shitty COUNTRY! Floods in the North, bombs in the South. Nothing works anymore. Not the airports, not the trains, not the tubes. Not the weather and not the Child Support Agency. Certainly not Wimbledon. And not the Falmer planning process which has only had NINE f***ing YEARS to think about it. Why does anybody live here anymore? Um, beam me UP Scotty, there's no intelligent life forms here.

Yet another rant running down the country, If you think that way why don't you leave.

After travelling to around 60 countries I have reached a simple conclusion. Britain = best place to live on planet.

I think Tom Hark should be voted Nsc's top doom and gloom poster. ;)

Ever since he had this brilliant rant the weather has changed and everyone has cheered up.

Well done THPP. :clap2::clap2::clap2:

My mate moved to Vancouver about 7 years ago.Now that place does have traffic problems.Very nice though.

If Britain is so bad why do so many people want to come and live here? maybe it's because of the many benefits?

I was talking to Brit who is now living in France and I came up with the idea that, with so many immigrants in the UK and so many jobs being moved to Scotland, maybe we English should re-invade northern France where there will already be a willing population of ex-pats.

besides, invading France should be easy, everybody does it!

Weather is just about T-shirt today, slightly overcast. The city is very nice; very clean, with the exception of a couple of streets that the smellies are confined to. Very interesting if you take a tun down that way! I like the sea wall; lots of great restaurants with the view over to Stanley Park & beyond.
There are plenty of extremely fit looking young girls about; although I am with company so have to be careful when ogling them!

In reference to the thread; I still miss home when I'm away & I'm away half the year. When I'm home I get itchy feet though.

I hear where THPP is coming from, but when you're away you only think of the good things; the pubs, the seafront, THE ALBION! :albion2:

Having lived in another country and visited countless others I'd have to say that Britain is nowhere close to being the best country on the planet to live in. It's nowhere near the worst place to live but there are so many better places to live-many places where there seems to be respect for fellow citizens for starters.

By the way, if I had to go to another country to live, it would be New Zealand, easy.
