Before asking whether it is possible to extend the stadium, ask whether it is possible to convey more people to and from it.
Small thinking. Lots of ways to increase capacity and/or attendance:
- dig down to create a subterranean seating area, where standing will be mandatory if they want to see the game
- provide a timeshare seating arrangement where those who leave 40 minutes in and don't return to their seat until a good 5-10 minutes after the second half kicks off, then leave again before 80 minutes, can share their seat with those who are more interested in the drinking than the football but want to be able to get a few minutes of football/gesturing at the away supporters/abusing Ashley Barnes in
- provide hot air balloons for those who like the aerial perspective
- allow two people who are each no more than 5' 4" to share a seat for a slight discount, providing that one sits on the other's lap at all times
And I'm sure there are many more.
Lack of ambition......
Within 6 years.
A new stadium plus extension, a new academy, a new hotel, multi storey etc, a Barca legend as manager, ex internationals and current international players, England U21 venue, World Cup rugby venue.......
About time BHA got their finger out and thought about the future.
Something must be wrong as I am agreeing with ROTR. I was told that when laid the foundations were sufficient to put another tier on every side of the ground after the roof has been removed and then replaced, a long term project but will probably not happen in my time.
There will always be a way if you throw enough money at it (look at the Bernebau), but it will never happen here. No demand beyond 30k from a smallish city, no reason to bother when they're quite clearly happy to just keep raising prices instead.
I think pepole keep forgetting the fans don't just come from Brighton and Hove but all over Sussex and from Kent( Burwash) and Clapham and other parts of the country.

THIS! PLUS FIXTURES BETWEEN ARSENAL,CHELSEA,WEST HAM,SPURS,LIVERPOOL,MAN UTD AND PALACE COULD PRODUCE AWAY SUPPORT OF 6K-10K

When safe standing arrives, as it will within the next 5 years, hopefully a big chunk of the North will be converted to safe standing. That'll add another couple of thousand to capacity.
You forgot the bit about fighting a relegation battle this year because of poor executive management by the club...
In TB we have the most visionary Chairman in the football league. He has not generated his wealth by luck. He has a business plan for BHA which is both well founded, incredible and ahead of the rest of the game. In 5 yrs time we will look back in wonderment at his foresight. We are fortunate to have an owner/chairman with funds, but equally with the acumen to make the most of the potential. Whether we consider this as serendipity or luck is a personal opinion, but in Tony Bloom, Martin Perry, Paul Barber et al, we are in the most capable of hands and as for immediate gratification, adopt a longer term view and just enjoy the present with a smug understanding of great things to come.
Up The Albion !!
Are we?
I must have missed that.
