Binfest for a couple of hours, until it becomes apparent Burke is keeping his cards close to his chest.

Can't you just picture Burke and Barber sitting down with a big smile on their faces saying " A very successful transfer window. We've had all those stupid customers believing all week that we'd be bringing in some real quality new faces and instead of that we've made a nice fat profit by selling three and only buying one. Definitely a good week's business! Now all we've got to do is work out how much we can raise season ticket prices then sit back and watch them all come flocking back next year!"

We sold four, we got a fee for Barnes, ElAbd. Bridcutt and Barker.

Would be a bit disappointed if no more signings were made.

Although our current squad is good i feel we'd fall just short of the quality required to go up this season, but then again keeping Buckley and CMS returning from injury will be like two new players.

A replacement for El-Abd surely should have been a priority. In other positions we can get away with not signing anyone because of the squads versatility, but if Greer or Upson now get an injury we'd be pretty ****ed...

By no stretch of the imagination have we come out of January stronger than we went in (if this is it). You'd have to say it shows a lot of financial prudence and no ambition whatever. I'll support us wherever we are, in whatever league, but there are probably 20 000 odd who won't.

We are also up Obika (loan) and Monokana. We also have KLL and Orlandi back from injury. Leo has had plenty of game time. CMS and Hoskins are back in training.

Oscar is now far more familiar with the squad and the Championship. The players are taking on board and developing under his 'philosophy'. We have a mean defence. We are in the fifth round of the FA Cup, and are being televised, accruing extra money; we have a decent chance of progressing to the next round, yielding more money. If this happens, we'll be one game away from Wembley. After Sunday, we have four home games in a row. We have the highest attendances in the Championship. We'll in all likelihood improve attendance figures as the season progresses. We've just made about £4m in the transfer window. We might make the play-offs -- who knows what happens if we do. If we don't, we'll be in for a settled and fascinating summer to see what Oscar does with the squad.

But apart from that...

CMS will be joining us, along with Will hoskins. Still got Buckley to come back.

We lost Bridcutt and Barnes. We have replaced Bridcutt, and we have replaced Barnes

I'm sure we are players up now, not players down.

We have suitable replacement for El Adb in the name of Dunk.

We also have Obika and that guy we signed who is in the development squad.

I would we are stronger.

Seems to me that:

1. We were weaker at the start of this season than we were at the start of last season

2. We are weaker going into the second half of this season than we were at the start of this season.

3. We are nailed-on favourites for FFP's Accountants Of The Year Award. YAAAAY! (if you're an accountant)

Its a shame that you couldn't add that we are in a worse position. Must clubs would want to be in witha shout of the play offs this time of the year and we are sitting nicely thank you. We are finding it hard to get players, because they either want long term contracts ( Conway ) or want regular first team football which is hard as we are looking for cover players.

I don't know - if you consider the bigger picture, with players returning from injury and others getting up to match fitness, and we've offloaded some players (only 1 of which was a regular starter of late in Barnes) and we've brought in a young pacey winger, a combative midfielder and a pacey skillful striker, I'd say we're looking pretty good.

I'd still hope we'd have some further business to do though. If not today, then in the loan window.

I'm not convinced Dunk can't cover AEA, all he needs is some game time.

You need four CB's due to likely suspensions / to cover injuries IMHO.
