I imagine Bruce would recognise bigotry and hatred as the destructive forces they are.

...but sadly there are still plenty of people who aren't as intellectually advanced!

You've got to believe it. During his 'Born in the USA' tour he gave a very generous contribution to the Yorkshire Miners strike fund.

I was fortunate enough to see his Wembley Stadium gig from that tour. It was on July 4th, and it was a balmy summer's evening. He started the gig by sitting on the edge of the stage singing 'Independence Day.' At the end of the song he stood up immediately and launched in to 'Born in the USA.' Great start to a great gig.

The reply to your probing about the cardboard hand written 'No Surrender' on the front of the stage at Glastonbury is far away from what you were inferring, brightonbluenose. Bruce collected requests for songs from fans as he raced along the front of the stage. From those, 'No Surrender' was the one the band chose for him to sing.

Correct, and immediately before playing No Surrender he had a placard there with 'Because the night' on it.

On most of Springsteen's tours he gives generously to good causes in the areas he plays at...

I think you mean, 'One of Springsteen's Wembley stadium gigs...', as there were three, 03/07/85, 04/07/85 and 06/07/85, Wed., Thurs. and Sat., as I had the pleasure of attending the Saturday show...

That's the song he used to do in 2004 for Sen. John Kerry's campaign throughout the midwest.

Clearly not, cause if he was he'd realise the entire northern Unionist political corps surrendered at St Andrews some time ago...

I don't think he totally nailed the lyrics, but a good bash anyway :)

Yeah, it wasn't the best cover version. Still the gig was the best of his I've seen. Dunno what he's on, but for a 60yr old to do two consecutive nights like he did, with the energy he puts in .... I was worn out watching it. And Clarence Clemmens walking around like Robocop ...
