Is Slade doing enough to keep the job next season?

if he could have everyone fit he would keep us up.with the injuries he has no chance.....manchester united would struggle with the injuries we have let alone us. If he had a fully fit forster, murray, mcnulty those 3 alone would of made a huge difference.

I like him and would be happy for him to get the job, but he needs his own backroom, fresh ideas = fresh results!!

It's been like that a lot of the season. Forster has only played 26 games in the league, and Murray has played even less than that at 18 games. This really hasn't helped our whole season.

I actually don't know. Don't really care - depends if anyone better is available I suppose.

He hasn't made a difference this season, but then he's had injuries and a piss poor squad to manage, so it's hard to judge.

Nothing has changed under him. I appreciate it takes a lot to turn it around, but we didn't even have that impetus start of a new manager coming in and getting a couple of wins. Everybody said, get a new manager in this will change our season and he'll keep us up. Now it hasn't seemed to turn out that way, fans are saying that he took over a sinking ship so what could he do. Can't believe it.

Hang on, hang on.

1) I don't think anyone said we would definitely stay up with a new manager, but relegation under Micky was inevitable.

2) Giving Adams the January transfer window was a huge mistake, meaning Slade hasn't had enough time to assess the squad, make the neccessary changes and turn us into a winning side. He's had only the load market to help him. And Adams appears to have signed poor players in January, McNulty aside. Let's be honest...to find quick fix for this mess would take a bloody unbelievable manager.

That doesn't defend the fact that we're still total poo though, still making the same basic mistakes, and still playing players out of position (Loft on the right?)

Why is relegation any more inevitable with Adams in charge, we look and play exactly the same? Of course no one can say for definate, that's ridiculous, but that was what I heard from fans for a fact. Along with "at least Slade will play players in their right positions". Yes it would take quite a bit, but like I said we didn't even have that new manager 'honeymoon period'. There haven't been any signs that anything's improving. What amazes me most is, I also heard many remarks like "we've got a great squad, promotion winning squad but Adams is holding them back", so you'd think Slade would be able to get it out of them, but can't either. Funny that.

As for poor signings, I don't think they are, they all looked like great prospects. McNulty you said so yourself, Carole was brilliant for the first few games, Davies looked promising, he went on loan to Stockport and scored 5 goals in 9 games for them and Jarrett, look at the clubs he's been at. They all looked great signings but that's the beauty of hindsight. And as for Slade getting players in on loan, if Dicker is anything to go by, no thanks.

Slade will be a perfect choice to get us promotion from League Two, IF he can bring in his own staff.

What has Slade/coaching staff done to Owuso who won every high ball in his first game but hasnt won one since, Carole who was electric for 2 games but hasnt beaten anybody since then. Davies scored in his first game and since then has drifted out wide and looked a poor player. Dicker has been chased by Slade when he was at Yeovil why what has he produced since being here?

Booker and White have to go before Slade does imho. If the style of play hasn't changed under a new manager and the slide of points hasnt changed, then it isn't the manager who is causing it. Booker and White have their own style and its tired and not working, Slade is not having an impact so I ask the question why? They need to be moved on.

BB and DW are the only connection with the past failures of the season and the question has to be asked why are they still with us especially Booker having been paid off once and then brought back by MA. He should have gone again with MA.

You can't judge whatever anyone is going to do next season on what has happened this season, especially after this mess.

Is he good enough in his own right? Yep, I'd say so.
Do we need managerial stability? Yes.

Keep him.

I totally agree with with you. He's had little to play with and no time to sort it out.

I have it on good authority that Slade will not be with us next season (from someone from inside the club) no great suprise really, I also have been told, he is not picking the team, it is still being picked by Booker. Why is he here? Now that is somthing I can't find out.

Hmm, think you're being silly to be honest. Carike brilliant? Davies promising? Jarrett isn't interested.

You're saying that perhaps Adams wasn't doing such a bad job after all, as Slade can't do any better. Well, Adams turned a mid table side into a shite one, and on that basis alone deserves the sack.

I guess time will tell with Slade - really don't mind either way though, I just want to see us start from scratch.

If true, that is utterly ridiculous and an absurd way for this football club to be run.
