I can see what the rev is getting at. I think I will breathe easier when Gus signs his extended contract, no reason to doubt that he will, it will hopefully steady the ship of uncertainty when he does. :)

I don't think Poyet's got a clue tbh. I've already had enough of his fancy dannery and his bleedin' hand wavery - & he couldn't spot a pwoppa footballer if they came & bit him on one of his tight South American buttocks. It's time for the long-ball game again folks: & who better to start the new revolution than a certain Micky Adams?

Go get 'im Tone! :clap2:

The budget may be similar to years gone, but the standard of football in this division has come on so much.
Big clubs paying big bucks has changed it forever.

Money talks. :bla:

is anyone forgetting that players contracts dont run out until july, meaning any players being released wont be done so until their contract is up!

Poyet was also away scouting while having a hoilday, so hes doing his job and being a good manager and looking for new players! now hes back and once hes setteld he can start looking to buy players! and in july can look at players being released! you can't rush these things and i have full faith in Poyet, the Jan transfer window shows hes got great ablity and an eye for good footballers and turning struggling talent back into their professional ways!

A great manager!

He has played in the premiership in a flair side and knows about winning matches, he has seen us through a tricky time and we comfortably finished 13th, 1 place away from the top half of the league.

He will instill discipline into our players making us difficult to beat but also adding flair and ability across the pitch.

My only concern is 'how are we going to score enough goals to get us promoted in a 4-5-1 formation?'

I do really rate him, he reminds me of Mourinho in his approach and style and if he can achieve the same sort of percentage of wins then we are in for a great few years

no we did not win this division twice with a similar budget, we won it once, and won the playoffs (somewhat fortuitously you could say). Also back then there were not the likes of leeds, norwich, southampton etc with they're pulling power/budget. I fully believe if poyet had the full season from the start we could have been a lot closer to getting promoted this season!

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
We won this division because we had a man who scored 35 goals a season basically for 2 seasons.

Find a striker who can do that and we will go up/

if we lost gus we would back at square one. this is true more than losing any one player. at the moment we are at square two, which is not a bad square. hopefully next season will herald square three.

lets all relax and have faith in someone who has proved impressive thus far.

if gus left before taking the chance to perform a long term contract i would be profoundly gutted for the club. does that answer your question?
