The Birmingham City official website, confirming that Saturday's referee will be Mr Nigel Miller (County Durham), continues: "Mr Miller will be assisted by Chris Powell from Dorset and Oleksandr Saliy from Middlesex."

There's an Oleksandr Saliy whose Facebook page lists these interests: Angliya - Britain's biggest Russian newspaper, blagovest.co.uk... and Team United Birmingham Futsal Club.

Could they, by any chance, be related?

Why do we need to have a referee from County Durham and one from Cheshire on Tuesday. The cost of their first class rail fares have to be borne by the club - are there no referees in London or Essex who could handle us?

I wouldn't have thought so, Oleksandr Saliy is a very common name.

Cheapest standard fare or 40 per mile and only in the cups otherwise borne by the league
