Is NSC getting boring

The problem with this site is the childish namecalling and constant bitching. How many times does a certain member quote my posts in order to make a petty little argument about something I've said, for example? It's pathetic. Anyone who thinks differently on here is destined to be called all sorts of childish names... it's unneccessary. There are a vast number of extreme dramatists on here, it brings the place down in my own humble opinion. But it doesn't stop anyone coming on here, we're all Brighton fans and this is the only place to talk all things Brighton.

Hello everybody...

Feeling needy?

personally i dont think its any worse now particularily. I think there are people on here, Withdean wanderer and the Complete Badger who deliberately post provocative things to get a reaction, a bit like when you were at school in teh play ground or in the classroom, being cheeky to the teacher, you used to say things to make yourself look big and clever....in the playground you tend to get your mates laughing at this, or people would ignore you. But essentially the audience was your age.

On here, you get that , but there are a lot older people on here, some who should know better, who react to some of the stuff written as though it were in some way either fact, or aimed at them. This is all about opinions, and if Boxxa allows access to all then you are going to get people with strong views, or wind up mentalities

I think where NSC these days can get nasty is bullying that happens on here. We had it a few weeks ago with The Spanish and appears to be happening with Ninja Elephant.

My son has just pointed out to me how boring NSC is getting as there are very few good threads with constructive arguments or discussions on it and I must agree as the standard seems to be dropping drastically. Is it because there appear to be more childish back stabbing and calling of names.

NSC lost a bit of its appeal when we were told we could no longer discuss race issues.

That was and is ridiculous

I agree.

In similarity I think the internet is all about seeking attention. Make a post to draw in the reaction. People who can't or won't get attention in the real world get it behind their keyboard. Sad really....but thats where are young people are headed if they don't have wise parents.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Sometimes life gets boring if those around you keep saying the same things. Catchphrases become monotonous drones without any element of mirth at their centre or periphery. Even "i love you dearly" becomes drab and senseless and without sparkle said for the thousandth time and dribbled into our ears by loved-ones we can't remember for sure the date-of-birth of and only just about the year they popped out. On occasion we have to decide on change, to disappear to a messageboard full of granddads who all think everything used to be better or be more rugged and undeveloped until everything got worked on and tightened and polished at the edges and put up for sale. Or i could go off to a messageboard of egotistical self-doubters and argue who is the worst off, but battle over who could say it more creatively and absurdly.

Maybe we need some new meat and should hunt down some of our favourites from other websites. We could say that we heard someone abuse them from here, a Badger or a Looney, and they utterly won the crowd over and everyone thinks they're pony now, they're like totally sad, they're whack times 2. The person, our favourite, wouldn't take that lying down and would be straight on here to batter their doubters down. With that miniscule victory they'd hang about to win again. If we did this gradually, a top-class newbie installed every fortnight or so, we could have an end-of-year no-rules weapons-allowed cage-match. We could sell rights to this showdown, this faceless face-off of internet giants. Whoever found the best newbie could claim agency rights to them and f***ing love that minute when they discover they've found the best new person to talk about things of the year and own 15% of the things they said from then on. And make love to them, if i know anything about the media industry.
