So protesting involving criminal damage is ok in you're book and I would imagine the commanding officer gave the order ? do you know why they were killed? Or is it more of anti British woke cancel culture agenda on your behalf

If a country colonised England, murdered indigenous peoples and then put up statues of the monarch in whose name the mass murder was committed, then no I wouldn't blame anyone for tearing them down as awareness grew.

It is happening to churches for a reason; because the church forced indigenous Canadian children into religious Christian schools and tortured, starved and murdered them in their thousands before burying them in unmarked graves.
On top of which, how many sacred sites do you think were desecrated by the invading British?
While not a pleasant thing to be doing. I can see where the resentment and anger stems from.

In closing speeches, defence barristers had argued that the Colston statue - erected in 1895 - had become inappropriate and offensive and that over the years, thousands had signed petitions to have it removed.
"Make no mistake members of the jury, your decision is not just going to be felt in this courtroom or this city," he said. "I urge you all to be on the right side of history."
Tom Wainwright, representing Milo Ponsford, told the court: "If you have a cancer like Colston festering in your city, you cut it out. Only once it's gone that the body can heal."

You are correct, however I’m not sure you should be able to just rip them down.
Churchill/Mandela/Nelson/Washington etc all have another side to them - can we rip them down?
Maybe a city/town debate/vote on taking them down v a sign saying why they are controversial is the way forward.
