I think he is shit and looks like a schoolkid the way he plays.

He has some raw talent but thats not really enough. Lets all be honest, if he has been overlooked while we are playing a centre back up front, has he really got much of a future here?

There is definitly something about him, but we need to bring him on for the last 10 minutes in some games when I think he is capable of getting a goal to clinch a draw or win. But after the recent run we have just needed defenders to come on and defend.

I think if someone got hold of him and showed him where to make his runs, what to do with the ball that they could fine tune the talent he has.

But saying that, striking is all about instinct.

a better question might be Have we seen enough to make a judgement, and if not then why not? I cant see McGhee bring him here if he's complete pony, but if he's no better than Robinson or McPhee then why bother 'training' him?

He can score more goals in 12 seconds than you can write fanzines in a season.:jester:

At the time we had to sign somebody. Give the lad a chance.

Looked really useful at Crawley, admittedly against non-league players.
Championship is a big step to take & he was playing in a team still finding their feet in a higher level of football. Maybe he would contribute more now we have the confidence to build & not just knock long balls.
I hope we keep hold of him.

he signed him on a 3 year contract - saying that he wasnt the finished article and had a lot to learn. why the f*** do people expect him to be as good as rooney immediately?

give the guy a break, and let him learn. no doubt u lot are the same people who said currie was a complete waste of time after two games.

I agree. Why the fu*k do some people persist in regularly moaning about individual players. We all have bad days and take some time to settle into a new job so why should footballers be any different?

Give the lad a chance - MM must have seen something to offer him a 3 year deal - would like to see him get the odd 10/20 mins for a few games

McGhee has said on numerous occasions that he is a player for the future - and that he can work with him to make him the player that he needs to be. As I understand it, we have him on a three year contract on pretty low wages. This is an instance of the club thinking mid to long-term rather than the short term plugs we have been doing in recent years.

Agreed - I think he is one for the future but I just wish (as I've said before) that we could get him out on loan to get some experience of the English Leagues - to someone in League One or Two. Surely if he's not being paid very much some struggling club in a lower league could take him on for a few months.

I reckon that could benefit him and us in the long run, whilst keeping him relatively match sharp.

What a stupid thing to say.

He's learning at the moment and can only get better. Mark McGhee has shown that he is a pretty good judge of a player.

Let's just give him a break.

Is Jake Robinson shit because he scored one goal in the first game of the season and has now gone back to the reserves?
