Under your skin.
Had a disagreement with somebody about this yesterday.

I can not think of anybody in this division who is even close to Painter.

The only other player who was better was Harte for Carlisle but he is no longer with them.

I'm refusing to vote, as I haven't seen nearly enough games featuring the other 20+ left backs in the division.

I wouldn't swap him for any of them, though.

Drive by abusing
Championship quality player imo.
Goes about his job in such an unassuming manner, We're lucky to have him.

I would call it a 'discussion' not disagreement

ANYWAY. If Jonny Jackson plays LB then he is the best in L1 but if not then has to be Painter.

Johnnie Jackson is a centre midfielder. Daniels for Orient is a good left back but Painter may be the best.

I would say as the votes are 21-1 in the favour of yes, it's a pretty unanimous descion .

He looks a bit like a centre-back when going forward (very square and unable to beat his man) but defensively he is a rock. And we have Calde on the other side for the attacking option. Painter and Lua-Lua used to work really well as a team.

Undoubtedly one of the best in the league

He IS a centre back (at least that's where he played for Swansea).

Except we're playing him at left back, so he looks like a centre back playing at left back. Do you follow? This alone limits him. Remember Virgs playing RB for many games under Adams? Very similar situation except Painter is a vastly superior player

Quality, unassuming, does what is required without flair and he does it well.

My only criticism (and dont get me wrong I would not swap him) is he could do with a slightly better shot on him for when he arrives in the box from time to time.

Dean Lewington of MK Dons would rival Painter and Michael Rose is quality but Swindon are off form and presumably all the defence are low in confidence.
Painter must be the best forward minded left back though, he used to be a winger for Birmigham before his Swansea days, so yes Painter for me !!!!
