Preston Rock Garden
Been twice...

lovely people,
climate is superb even in winter,
med is warm and clam,
lots of history
only 2.5 hour flight over France, Sardinia, Sicilly etc
they love their footy and most bars show live football

But

i found the island to be a complete shithole
I think it's one of the highest populated countries in the world pro rata
Not a blade of grass to be seen
Can be expensive as linked to Euro
Some of the worst drivers i've ever seen.
nothing for kids to do

we stayed in the Qwara palace hotel in Qwara and that was faultless

Would i go again....probably just for the break.

LA...wishing it was devon..
lovely island....went late august so was extremely hot. stayed in Mellieha Bay...recommend hiring a car to get about.. but agree that the driving is attrocious..would also recommend the experience of travelling on one of the buses!! never been in anything like it before.
trip to gozo a must.
lots of diving (which is why we went) and plenty for beginners to get themselves stuck into.
enjoy

On the ocean wave
If you're going to Valletta be sure to pay homage at Ollie's Pub where legendary pisshead Oliver Reed sadly expired after a monster session while filming Gladiator - without paying his bar bill

While drinking with the Royal Navy....lightweight!

Go to Paceville near St Julians the women were stunning.

Stay in Sliema/ St Julians, hire a car and go to Golden Sands Bay, Ghain Tuffeiha Bay or if you can find it Slug Bay you have to climb down a cliff (It has a rough path) but its totally secluded.

Look up on the web the world heritage sites and book tickets for the Tarxien temple before you go - they only let in about 30 people a day booked. Its a bit hard to find so leave plenty of time but its amazing if you like history.

Gozo is well nworth a visit but you need all day

You need a day to see Valleta and Mdina/ Rabat needs the same.
