Is Lua Lua Suspended for Charlton? (Apparently so according to his tweets)

How has he picked up a 5th booking ? If he has I can only think that a ref has shown a yellow card and the media have misreported it as being shown to another Albion player.

The other thread about this said that the club and a web site both said he only had 4 yellows but surely the club will check it out before the Charlton game

Knowing the FA they probably closed their offices at midday on Monday for the Xmas holidays. If the club cannot clarify the number of bookings they wont risk playing him. Was it simply a coincidence that the FA website crashed ?

He's been booked in

Shef wed
Reading
Leeds
Hudds
Leicester

If that is true, the problem game is the Leeds one. For some reason the AP didn't collect any data, thus the BBC and I think certain parts of the club website that rely on the AP for stats won't have any info.

Even now, all that espn (who use the AP) have are the goal scorers, and Luke Barney booking. No shots, no possession, no corner counts or fouls etc.

I just took it off BBC reports

What BBC report are you looking at that indicates LuaLua was booked at Leeds, because I don't see anything about a LuaLua booking here?

How can he seriously not know how many times he's been booked this season? You have to worry about some of our players.

Would have expected the club to clarify the position before they closed for the holiday period.

The last booking was in the Huddersfield game on Saturday , if the club thought it was his 4th booking too they would have been unaware until it was shown on the FA website on Monday when it might have been too late to check. It feels a bit suspicious to me that the FA website pages also went offline Monday afternoon. I don't recall LuaLua getting a yellow card at Elland Road but then again the ref could have flashed the card and noted his number without summoning him over to take his name.

You would hope the club themselves knew. The club website may have relied on the ap stats, but I'm pretty sure the club have their own stats team who would monitor things for their own records. I would also suspect the club would have an administrator who would keep such records and that the club receive, and have someone who reads and notes important info from, the ref's match report.

The only contentious issue in the game was the referee and the lino failing to see the blatant handball by Murphy before he scored the winning goal.
