win at liverpool in the 5th rd of the cup and it is a once in a lifetime experience! except we are going to have done it twice! i was there in 1983, we got two tickets for the kop, and a police escort down the side of the pitch before the game , past a big pot of paint and into the Anfield Road end! anyone who can get there... should!!

The timing is unfortunate, but I have just got our tickets anyway. My son can sleep in the car on the way back, as will my Father. Quieter roads as well on a Sunday!

This really is too good an opportunity to miss, great experience and looking forward to it.

After the euphoria of drawing liverpool away in the 5th round of the fa cup & then hearing that everton were also at home it soon became apparent that everton would be playing their match on the saturday.Come midweek the time & date was confirmed & I'm sure a lot of albion fans then decided to give it a miss & watch on tv.

I only found out that tickets were on sale tonight at about 7.30 so i logged on expecting to wait a while before i could buy tickets but to my surprise i got straight through.

which makes me think that this game may become an anti climax.

It could well be for us. We have to wait until about 3 weeks after the game before 90 LOYALTY points will get us a shot at a ticket. LOYALTY.....give me a break, 90 points and I have driven all over the country from Bristol to bloody Ipswich all for 10 points a game. Living 4-hours from Brighton makes a season ticket a bit pointless. There has to be a better way to spread the tickets around. Having said that I really can't see us selling 6k tickets too quickly so there is still hope.

It's the fifth round of the FA Cup! As an event in itself it cannot be an anti-climax as any single FA Cup games, because there's not so many of them, is bigger and more important than any single league game.

And we're away at Liverpool, a team we haven't played too much over the last hundred and ten years. And there's the chance of an upset, the hope of a decent draw in the sixth round, then maybe at least one Wembley appearance in the semi-final, and ....... who knows? European football?

If you can't get excited at that, if you're only response is to think "Huh, rather get three points against Ragarse Rovers" then you are very very very boring and possibly already dead.

This business of quieter roads on a Sunday is a misconception. The roads are usually a lot busier on Sunday evenings than Saturdays. I know 2 Man.Utd fans who regularly go to games at Old Trafford and they always say that the journey back south is always easier on a Saturday.
1) More people are travelling back from weekends away, day visits etc.
2) More people are travelling to stay at accommodation for work the next day.
3) More haulage on the roads.
4) Weekend roadworks still in place.
Prepare yourself for a long journey back.

Going back to the question posed by the OP , if this game had been talked up in the way that Spurs , West Ham and Villa were then it couldnt really fail to be an anti climax. Fact is that this time there has been so much grumbling about date , time , travel etc that it can`t fail to exceed expectations !. Can`t make it myself but I am sure those that do go will have a great time.

Exactly , can't see the fuss myself in this tie. Not a bit like 1983 when Liverpool were the team in World football and beating them was front page news and now if we win it will hardly be noticed.

"Routine for them" at 2-0 i.e. you are avoiding as only want to go when you think we'll win, dressed-up with some anti-LFC propaganda.

We had 7,000 there that day, (compared to 300 for the league game earlier in the season) and anyone who was there will tell you it was NOT an anticlimax, before, during or after the match.
