Is Johnny Dixon going to play this season?

I dont think that MA would have signed him but then the same could have been said about Geoff Pitcher, perhaps Dixon will go the same way, The reserves do not start playing for about a month so perhaps a loan to Woking, Lewes or similar would do him some good even if only for a month.

I thought that when he played at Luto last year he showed promise but was short of match practise. Would i have played him on sat ??? yes probably or at least had him on the bench but then there are a lot of things that i would have done differently on sat

Someone in non league hopefully.

Hopefully, but if he does not want to drop back down to that level, you have him sitting in the reserves.

The problem I have with all this is, I have not seen much of him, as he was injured a lot last season and seemed to miss most of pre-season through injury, yet collectively he seems to have been completely written off.

I would say, what I have seen, when he has played is that he lacks pace which is alwaya a bit of an issue.

I wonder who's idea it was to buy him. Given that he was bought during Wilkins reign but Wilkins never bothered playing him, it seems a strange decision to SPUNK £55k on him.

Very very odd indeed. He's clearly no better than Robinson (our current 4th choice and bafflingly behind Hart), so let's hope a 4th division team out there can see something in him.

ive seen him on numerous occasions for the reserves, and trust me this has to be lloyds worst ever finding.the players touch is poor ,hes got no pace, and to make matters worse hes lazy.somebody told me he was watched by bl who only saw the warm up,well it seems that must be true or bl knows nothing about scouting.as for aldershots wanting him back,no way.i spoke to some of their supporters at crawley last year and they were rubbing their hands at £55.grand.they were delighted to have got rid of him.

You can say that again. My one memory of him last season, was in a home game, where he started an attack from the centre circle by putting a ball out wide, he then stood in the centre circle watching the move, instead of sprinting forward to join the attack.
