Is it time to make games longer?

If they changed the rule so that every time the ball went out of play the clock stopped, so that the game consisited of 90- mins actual football, it would be virtually impossible to say how long a game would last. Would it be 3 hours, 4 hours or 2 hours 30 mins. At least it would stop games being on TV and get fans back into the grounds but TV provides so much of the revenue.

Many major sports, particularly in the US, cannot tell you how long a game is going to last but have TV coverage. TV could adapt if they had to.

That is a pity less TV Football would bring less armchair experts and more bums on seats at grounds but then again what earns most bums on seats or Sky TV and its monoploly .

many people would not turn up to game without a knowledge of how long i will last. plus in the rain do u really want to sit there for an extra 30 mins or whatever?

Yeah, good idea. Lets change the length of the greatest and most played sport in the world, it clearly doean't work at the moment. FFS.
