Is it ARROGANT to

I suppose it depends on what job it is that you're going for, but it could be considered extremely arrogant regardless. The primary aim of an interview is to be offered a job. At best, you could be seen as amusing, at worst a conceited and vain primadonna. Supposing someone in the interview said, "Actually, you weren't great". What would you say then?

I run a small business in Dubai that employs 9 people - we're expanding rapidly, but if anyone tried anything like that at the interview stage, we'd be laughing about it for the next week. And they wouldn't get the job.

Err on the side of discretion at interview. If you get offered the job, you'll have plenty of future opportunities to dazzle with witty repartee.

Funny you mention Dubai, I'm catching the flight from London. See you Wednesday ? :p

Change your name to Toblerone, then purchase a medium size bar of the same in Woolies on the way to the interview. When you go in to the interview pop the Toblerone out on to the desk in front of you.......... it will look so professional you will nail the job for sure.

And also, could use the used box as a name sign for the desk !! You are a GENIUS Vegster !!

Dopiaza (dupiaza) - a style of curry, usually of medium strength (heat) prepared with onions that have been cooked in two different ways.

It is ARROGANT to finish the presentation, for a job I really want, with the line

"Thanks for listening to me, I'VE BEEN GREAT"

Or just down-right FLAIR !!

:clap2:

Quoting Scrubs in a job interview is always a good idea. Judge how the presentation is going and choose at the end whether to do it.

For my current job I had to do a 10 minute presentation. I used power point and for a the footer on each slide I had my name and the job I was going for. I got the job and afterwards they told me that they liked the fact that I made the assumption that I would get it. Though I would not do what you are suggesting. If your presentation is any good then you will ruin it by saying that. If it is not any good you will just confirm what they were thinking and ruin and chance you have of pulling it back in the actual interview.

I think you should prepare a 'wish list' of the items you wish to procure with your new salary and dazzle them with your classy choices of goods. They are bound to give you the job if they can see your spending your money wisely in helping the economy!

I used to work for a big media company and was astounded by some of the CVs that used to come in from prospective employees.

I once saw a CV from a bloke who thought a picture of him dressing up as James Bond in a tuxedo (complete with Gun in classic Connery pose) would get him a job.

Quite frankly, on a personal note - if you did say that at the end of the presentation you wouldn't get a chance in hell.

Employees do have to consider the skills of the employee and their suitability for the role, but also importantly whether their existing workforce will consider their new colleague to be a complete and utter cock.

So on balance - I wouldn't.
