You're still not dead though.

I'm not saying spitting isn't disgusting nor unhygienic.

I'm saying people who advocate hitting other people aren't any better than the guy spitting, in some ways they are worse.

I dont know about australia (surprises me, would have thought they would have similar views on this to us) but in Britain spitting at people is considered cowardly vile and a big no no. its really not worth debating it with british people tyrone everyone to a man will feel the same way. its far too european.

Can't say i've heard about any spitting incidents here at all.

But i've seen what a stray single punch can do. David Hookes died tragically under such circumstances a few years back.

And his case isn't the only one that's appeared in the news.

So the fact a punch is considered of a lesser evil confounds me slightly.

I know what i'd rather have done to me to be honest in regards to my physical safety.

I'm British.

I think spitting in general is a filthy habit.

Spitting at people (whether albion fans or not) is usually done to get a reaction, which I find pathetic, unoriginal, and classless. But I also think it is silly to let something that is such an obvious attempt to rile you actually get to you and the idea that it is one of the worst crimes anyone can do seems a little over the top to me.

I'm British.

i am a little confused as to where you see the contradiction. if you are the devils advocate as you cliam, then you need to take opposing or directly contradictory stances, rather than simply not feeling as strongly about something, or agreeing to a certain extent.

If the alleged spitter had a problem with anyone on here, recognised them at a match etc hes hould have had the stones to confront him one on one after the match if he really believed he had been wronged. Spitting at anyone, especially in a crowded area where youo know a fight would probably be stopped thus saving yourself a beating is cowardly and uncalled for. If the case is that he was deliberately spitting then as mentioned a million times he got what was coming to him. If yuo did that in a pub you would get seven shades knocked out of you.
The fact that the throat grabber poked up with this behaviour for 70 mins shows to me that he is not an inherantly violent bloke as he would have snapped long before that if he was violent by nature.
f*** the little bastard, some things should not be tolerated, bullying whether it involves spitting or not is unnacceptable and should always be called and addressed.

as a slightly independant witness, i can confirm that the spit happened. seeing as it wasnt directed towards me, or the pathetic attempt to push withdean wanderer over when we scored the third (which i dont think he even noticed), i felt no need to get involved. if it had have been me taking the abuse and eventually being spat on or shoved, then i definitely would have turned round and throttled the kid. the fact that it was only a grab by the throat and a few words and that, despite having taken all the abuse, withdean wanderer still calmed badger down and told him to drop it was nothing short of miraculous

the most amusing part of it all though was one of the little shits moaning about our short corner which in turn lead to a goal - and they had the nerve to behave like this to somebody for moaning on an interent message board. tossers

and id say that the woman applogising to the complete badger for their behaviour despite not knowing either of them is a pretty independant summing up of the events for giraffe

Okay fair enough. Although I have heard other versions of what happened I am happy to take this version of events as gospel. Thank you
