What a bloody idiotic thing to say ! We're 16th because of ALL 24 games we've played not because of the first 7. You do realise there are a total of 46 games don't you ? I'll be more than happy with 16th at the end of the season but appears some people are too stupid to recognise projects like this take time - I blame the "want it now" culture.

Grow a brain you twat, since september it's been relegation form, the only thing stopping us from being down there is our strong opening. I'll be f***ing over the moon with 16th at the end of the season the way the last month's gone, but it wont f***ing happen unless something changes.

Some of you have got way over excited over this thread. No one is demanding he should go. The title was "Is Gus safe?" It seems that questioning Gus's managerial skills is just not allowed???

With some of the basketcases on here it's not.

I can't be bothered to scribe anything of substance apart from. If you want Gus out you are a f***ing idiot. It just does my nut that people on here are so stuck and set in their own ways with the style of football that as soon as we go on a bad run, may I add having never really been on a bad run in League One under Gus, people want him out and some "Aidy Boothroyd", hearts on sleeves hoof merchant to sort it out.

LOOK at what the man has done for christ sake you morons! Saved us from relegation. Took us up the next year. Brought us into a new home and made a superb start to the season. Re-structured the club from top to bottom so that now the u14 to the first team play the Gus way. Brought quality players in such as Noone and Lua Lua who get the fans on thier feet. And this season he has had to contend with as many injuries as I can remember.

An unbeleivable lack of faith in our manager. A man with an outstanding playing career who can attract players such as Vicente and wipe the floor with most who would come in for this job. In GUS we f***ing trust.

Totally agree. Good post.

Many have questioned Gus's tactics and style. Can't see why none of you have put your finger on the issue.
Last season, we had the quality [in players] to control games with tippy-tappy possession football with the ability to deliver a quality service from midfield to feed a half-decent striker. Opps couldn't counter this and we won the league - great.

This season, we started off in the same vein, but the opps now are of a higher quality and skill, as are their managers too, and they have [after 7 games] learnt to counter our posession style.

With injuries and suspensions [Coventry proved] that tippy-tappy could be made slippy-sloppy - as proved when we gifted then a chance in the 2nd half that, due to their ineptness, was blasted wide.

Adam El Abd, bless him, is in the Culip mold of "no nonsense get rid" rather than the Paul McShane / Dunk mold of "control and pass". Asking him to play tippy tappy with 2 other centre halves and only Noone really droping deep to become an outlet option was a big ask [oh how we missed Bridcutt].

Not having any creativity from our midfield left barn-door and CMS frustrated - but scoring nil with the players we put out against the bottom side was disappointing - they just wanted it more than we did.

I fear for the lads on Monday against Saints - losing Noone, Dunk & Navarro - confience [no excuse says Gus] low from 4 defeats on the bounce - are we expecting Cook to be our clean sheet savoir?

What Gus appears to lack is a plan b) once the tippy tappy is nullified we seem clueless as to what to try next - I put this down to Gus's inexperience - he played all his football at a high standard where tippy tappy was the ONLY way to play - but sometimes the long ball game needs a chance [Pulis has proven it can work - not always attractive I agree] but this also requires strong physical players which Gus chooses not to invest in.

So, I see Gus as still Work In Progress, but please stop all this nonsense talk of relegation - the club are now better than League 1 in every respect. This season has to be a building year, the real measure of Gus will be his tactical approach next season when things are not going our way.

You lot don't deserve someone of his quality. Bunch of Fuckwits the lot of you. If you fail to see how he reshaped the club from top to bottom, you are idiots. By all means question some recent results but if you think him leaving is the answer then you know NOTHING about football.
This.

His passing game hasn't been found out, our current team has been. It's just not easy to pull it off the passing game as you move up a division, and your players need to step up. What's all this fuss about? We don't need to be pushing for promotion yet, give it all time. If we're playing like this in 12 months time we can start wondering what's happening, but why have a paddy now?

I cannot believe that people on here are even suggesting that we will get relegated or sack Poyet neither wikll happen ina a month of Sundays. We stand more chance of promotion than relegation.
