I can’t believe you are actually a Brighton fan with some of the stuff you post. We are two points off the top ten in the PL with 8 games to go. Is his third season and he has both set and then equalled our record PL points tally in his first two. And you ask is he out of his depth? Seriously what absolute nonsense is this thread.

And I cannot believe some of the drival you post.

To blame Tony Bloom for lack of investment as you have done on other threads is a joke. Have you seen the latest accounts?

The latest accounts do reflect how difficult it is to be financially sustainable and compete higher up the league.

Look at Brentford, transformed by Eriksen. You need a bit of magic and freshness in a squad. We’ve had scoring problems since arriving in the PL, you can’t let a window drift passed without looking to do something.

But then do we need to be content with the level of investment we probably still are punching above our weight in the table.

Do you have a different league table to me? Your one sounds better :lolol:

It's where we are shit that's important. Fans need something to blame, I get that. The simplest route to that is to blame the manager for; a) tactics b) team selection c) use of subs. However to say Saturday we didn't 'open a team up' is faintly ridiculous when we created a complete variety of 30 odd chances. 30. Including a penalty. They weren't all with 20 players in the box, or outside the box, or crosses, or set pieces, it was a complete mix selection of chances – to which the conclusion is our players lack belief and confidence and/or quality to finish chances. That is the shit part. You just cannot play a game of football, have 30 chances and blame the type of them. Watch the game back - most PL teams are winning that 2 nil or better.

Any criticism of Potter right now isn't really about tactics or selection, it's about that magic wand impact of getting players to believe in themselves again and to regain some kind of form and confidence in front of goal. There isn't something tactically wrong when you keep a clean sheet and create 30 chances. What is wrong is scoring, whether that is quality, confidence or belief.
Disagree, Potter is making a mess of it, Maupay should be nowhere near pens he’s missed the target three times yet go on Neal you can do it.. weak, we haven’t won a game starting March & Gross yet every game lately both start for some bizarre reason that only Potter knows. It’s fail and repeat, fail and repeat.

I haven’t ever criticised Bloom for lack of investment. I have said I would like to see the investment he does make targeted in a different way. Focused on one or two players rather then on 6/7 more future investment type deals.

So nice try but you are wide of the mark, again, and this thread is absolute total nonsense.

Thanks mate

I never thought I would end up agreeing with so many of your posts!

Every game - the last 2. Because we’ve been trying different formations and personnel. Not that you’ve noticed.

Maybe Tony and Graham are both doing what they can with what little they have

As for your question GP and Houghton both coached in Sweden at some point... and that is pretty much where the similarities end.

If you don't like the thread, don't read it or reply to it.

Your turning into another b. W. 2 with your wingeing about strikers

Wasn't Bob Houghton on a hiding to nothing taking over Bristol City when he did? They'd be relegated from the top flight, were in serious dire straights financially and were at the start of a freefall that took them all the way to the bottom division in straight seasons. Not sure its a fair comparison at all.

Don't disrupt hamstrung narratives with your so-called fair comparisons, now. ???

This is the time for standing under a bucket of ordure, sniffing with expectancy, and then taking it full in the face (with some of it going up the nose).

Fact.

I agree re Maupay - shouldn't even be on the pitch, and yes, I know, he's our highest scorer but god help us if we're relying on him to get goals next season for survival. The penalty miss was the final straw for me. Gross is past his best and needs moving on. I don't agree about March - he at least looks like he wants to attack - less of this pass left, right or back. Just needs to cut out the errors.

Hmmmm.....Gross was decent against Norwich. As was Trossard. March, on the other hand looked terrible. Every time he received a ball he took a defensive touch that prevented him taking on a man. As for Maupay, someone above (@Justice?) said he should not have been allowed to take a penalty as he has missed three. It may be a quibble but Saturday's miss was his 3rd, not his fourth. If you are going to play Maupay then he's likely to take the penalty. If you decide to 'rest' him and draw against Norwarch then you, the manager, are shitehouse for not selecting our leading goalscorer.

Football. It's all about opinions.

Gross was my motm. His work rate meant his last 10mins weren't great, but up until then thought he was probing, popping up in good positions, always looking to bring players in. Trossard is at times just too mercurial, and when he has a quiet game, I feel he has to pop up with a goal or a moment, which he nearly did.

March is a tale of what happens when tactically you are a bit hamstrung by your squad options. Had Webster been fit, March isn't playing, Lamptey and Cucurella are bombing on as wingbacks, Trossard would have a bit more freedom as a genuine 3 with Maupay and Welbeck. As it is, with a 4, March is our only out and out wide player. At this level we know it's tough for him. But as with Moder perhaps needing a rest after international duty, Sarmiento and Mwepu both back from injuries, Bissouma having a sulk, or whatever it is that he's going through, I'm not sure we were blessed with options.

I doubt GP is forcing pen duties on Maupay, I would imagine Maupay is demanding he is the pen taker. Leaves any manager with a dilemma, does taking that duty off the CF undermine their position as goal scorer impacting their already fragile confidence? Does getting a goal from the spot get them back in the groove so worth the risk of letting them take it? Pens are always easy to give to someone else when you've missed. Gross has missed a few, Welbeck has taken one PL pen in his career, and of course missed for us against West Brom, Mac A did net against ManCity in Oct - I guess he was the likely alternative.
