you're right, les. truth is, i hate clubbing. the only reason for it i can see is to meet lovely ladies. and for that purpose, it does fine. thankfully, i'm in a position at the moment where i'm not forced to listen to music i didn't choose, played through a system that cannot handle it, buying drinks that taste like piss, for a price i can't believe.
but, when it's a friday night, you're free and single, and you're so pissed you think 'sweet child of mine' is the greatest piece of music ever written, there's nowhere i'd rather be than a grimy, dark, indie dancefloor.
and i certainly wouldn't besmirch anyone doing that alone.

It is funny what drives us to these places. The libido will even force us to consider wether it is right to visit these places on your own. If you even have to question whether you should or not then you are probably not cool enough to get away with it.
It is our sex drives that take us to these stadiums of desperation and the best way to overcome this is to have a wank. If you still feel like going out on your own after that then maybe you have control of the libido. If not the answer will arrive with the last creamy thrust of the soul destroying loners wank.

I did it a couple of times at the old Event. I was really up for a night out but all me mates were skint so I thought f*** it, I'll go along anyway, bound to bump into someone I know. And sure enough I did. The worst bit was my new friends kept asking me who I was with and having to say err they're all in the toilet

Haven't tried clubbing on my own but would do it if REALLY bored. Goin' to the cinema on me own is no issue at all for me. I go for the film, not the social element, so if no-one's free / up for going I'll happily cruise down alone. Those that think it's 'sad' fit their own tag as they are insecure about themselves.

definitely. you hardly go to sit in a dark room, watching a screen, for the chat, now do you?
I rarely go to the cinema anymore by myself but don't have a problem with it. It's like going to the football, sometimes I will happily go alone because I just want to see the match.
Clubbing is a social occassion so would never go alone.

see, i don't see clubbing as a 'social' occasion. for me, it's just to pull birds - so going on your own is fine (prob improve chances, actually). happily go to the footy or cinema on my tod, but not the pub for example.

Pub is a strange one. Fine during the day if you wanna read the paper and have a pint, sad as f*** if you go by yourself in the evening.

depends what sort of pub as well though
if its a homely local, then you can sit at the bar and enjoy idle chat with your fellow locals, unwinding after a tough day at work. if its a lively, wetherspoons style place then going on your own in the evening is pretty sad
pub on your own is ok although when i have done it I end up reading the paper cover to cover whether i wanted to or not. Have done the clubbing on own but only when hammered and mates have not got in....and as previously mentioned this was with the sole intention of pulling

well, its more lively in the evenings than your local corner pubs
with the exception of the burrell. although this is misleading due to the rent-a-wife barmaid and the man and his dog
