Not sure if football has much going for it now, it's probably racist, probably homophobic and as the testimonies in the JT case showed, its very foul mouthed. Can we start again ?

Jake Robinson had a bit to say !

Was going to post something about our Jakey,

Interesting programme, I do like Carlisle, he's obviously a very clever guy and will be a great chairman of the PFA.

Also, many players are lacking in courage, judging from the mealy-mouthed responses in that programme.

Wish I'd watched this instead of the last episode of Blackout. What a massive bucket of shit!

Must more interesting/balanced than the Poland/Ukraine documentary.

Given how much people bang on about Brighton being such a diverse city, it's surprising the proportion of black people attending games doesn't seem to have increased much now we're at The Amex - it's still minimal.

I entirely agree but, relative to the population of Brighton and the surrounding catchment area, you don't actually see many black people do you (apart from people obviously visiting). I've often thought this. I don't live in Brighton so stand to be corrected.

Interesting documentary, presented very well. Carlisle comes across very well - I hope he stays in the game after his career ends.

Probably because they have moved to Brighton from London, so more than likely support London teams ?

There was a kickabout in Preston Park the other day and at least 80% of the 25 strong gang were black. I automatically assumed they were visiting the town for the day.

My thoughts exactly.

Carlisle's obviously an intelligent bloke, but his presenting style was very CBBC. How many side-on shots of him looking contemplative do you need to pad out a documentary? An extremely underwhelming programme imho.

Compared to other cities in England we don't have that ethnically diverse a population, though I've noticed a change over the last few years.

Diverse... But 88% of the population of Brighton and Hove is white.
