Yes, our form is absolutely dire right now and barring a sudden miracle turnaround it's not happening

Which I'm not 100% disappointed by, a chance to regroup next season and push again with fewer distractions.

With our run in, I think there’s more chance of finishing 13th than making Europe. It wouldn’t be a disaster though and would hopefully prompt some ambition in the summer transfer window which would give us a good chance next season.

Six wins in 24 league games. Read that again.

Most other managers would be in trouble.
1 in 4? Seven teams haven't managed that for the entire season, and only three have sacked their manager so far. Only the top five have lost fewer games than us this season. And if that instead read 12 wins in 24 league games we would find ourselves fourth or fifth and in the champions league spots. Which would be thoroughly ridiculous considering the squad available to us and the pressure of the Europa league.

So, could be better, but equating that with sackable form? Nah, not a chance. If it read eight wins in 24 league games we'd all be pleased, which is basically just one more goal going in from us somewhere and one less goal going against us from somewhere else.

Most importantly, the thing about bad runs of form is that they are always preceded by good runs of form, and they are always followed by good runs of form. When the scale flips is anyone's guess.....

Too many negative waves here again. I thought we did pretty well last night given that Brentford never wanted a football match. We did everything but score. We know we can score against the top sides. I’m still optimistic about Europe - we‘re competing against some fairly mediocre teams who, like us, have struggled with injuries and recovery times.
I genuinely don't understand why Brentford are the baddies from last night.

This place reads like Brazil 1970 were playing Wimbledon.

Form wise it is likely not happening. Said that despite it being very average we still remain 2 points behind West Ham in 7th with a game in hand. Seems nobody really wants to go on a winning run to claim 7th and the europa conference league slot and there yet could be an 8th place as well. So it’s definitely not over and any team currently 7th down to Chelsea in 12th would only need to find a bit of form to claim these spots.

Chris Hughton won five of his last 25 league games in the season he was sacked.

RDZ has won six of his last 24.

Looking tough but definitely NOT off the cards for me, not really based on our form (although return of Pedro/Enciso etc should help) but more based on the fact all the sides around us consistently drop points. None of them are hitting unstoppable form. For that reason I think we'll continue to be in the conversation until late.

We're currently ONE point off Europe, so I really don't quite understand why people are so ready to write it all off.

Have they seen West Ham, Newcastle, Wolves etc ? All just as inconsistent or struggling in one way or another - as was my main point, which you removed the context of.
All 3 have taken more points than The Albion over the last 5 games.

Sorry you're right, they're all storming it and I must've imagined us being 1 point off with better goal difference than 6th and 7th despite being decimated by injuries for most of the season.

He also won 5 Europa League games and 2 FA Cup games in that period. So actually 13 from 33.
That’s a bit of a lame response, the poster was only quoting league games and it’s a fair point, our form has been really poor for a long time. Cup games are irrelevant but we also lost two FA Cup and League Cup games in that run if you really want to add those in.

The FA cup games were against the worst PL side for 20 years and a Championship side. The Europa League wins were against three really poor sides who would all be fighting relegation in the PL and two of which were in the middle of crisis seasons. As soon as we played a good team, we got destroyed. The second leg was a dead rubber. Plus Hughton won cup games in his run too but as I say, that’s irrelevant anyway.
