Is Burke the stumbling block?

It's not just about fees though is it. The club will have a wage structure and it appears Bournemouth were willing to pay Grabban a lot more than us, possibly with a signing on fee for the new contract or something similar.[/QUOTE]

...and where is Grabban now?.......I think that tells you everything about the individual and his motives.

These list of predictions you talk about.....I said Bridcutt wouldn't play for us again, he played a game to prove his fitness so a deal could be done. After that I seem to remember he wasn't in the right frame of mind. I said Vicente was a waste of money and wouldn't play 10(was it games), oh I was way out with that one. I said Poyet was a total cock mmmmmm, enough said about that one I think and I said in MARCH i think it was that Garcia would not be here at the start of next season no matter what...Yep your right, I am always way off the mark.

So basically you were wrong on all of them apart from the Garcia one.

Mate it really is about time you learnt the difference between 'your' and 'you're', it's really not that hard.

Anyway, back to the new manager, what do you reckon? We'll ignore your suggestion of that good honest Englishman with 57 caps for the Republic of Ireland, so who else? Sherwood? Hoddle? I'd be OK with both of those.

I am sure it is about many things but rules are there to sometimes be broken. I am sure there was a lot of poker playing with Grabban even to the point that apparently TB was conveniently unavailable on transfer deadline day, the most important time in the season. Could it have been set up to play the not contactable card in the hope that Grabban would have been put on the spot to sign or not in the hope he would?

If the story of Bloom being in another time zone is true, then he wouldn't have known what Grabban was asking for, rather than us being fed the info that he was asking too much, as it has to be either one or the other and not both.

Who did I suggest with 57caps for ROI, remind me???......I honestly reckon no one has got a clue. Sherwood would be my number 1 choice but I think that would be done by now. I think there could well be something in this Hoddle stuff and like you, I would be ok with that.....Out of all the other name mentioned, nothing really floats my boat. Hughton, Clarke I think would be safe appointments but I think Clarke will go to Celtic.... I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's someone no one has even mentioned, or who hasn't been mentioned much anyway..... And I'm sorry my use of English isn't all it could be, I'm just a good old fashioned manual outdoor worker, who's only write's when filling out a betting slip and who's reading doesn't extend far past the racing post and sports pages.

the scouting for the past year have been pretty shite excpet for Lingard, hasnt it? .

In last 18 months Conway, Lingard, Upson, Ward, Walton, and Chicksen.

In Burke's "reign" since Feb 2012 >> Bruno, Orlandi, Lopez, TK, Ulloa, And Bridge.

There's been signings that haven't worked out but overall hit rate looks pretty good given 2 play offs in a row. A squad for both years that could have been promoted given luck with injuries/tactics. His team only identifies targets too so plenty behind scenes we don't know about that Gus/Oscar didn't want or TB wouldn't fund.

Sticking to Burke 's capabilities, wasn't it him who sourced Ulloa for £2m. A player who now, just 18 months on is valued at around £7m. I appreciate he has bought some duffers in as well but he hasn't got it all wrong has he?

If you mean Burke spotted Ulloa, then no he didn't as that was Stephenson before him, if you mean was he part of the team to finally sign him, after us chasing him for 18 months while he got a Spanish passport yes. So the important part to getting Ulloa as in spotting a good player. then little credit can be given to Burke for this signing.

..." The problem you have at your club is David Burke. Never was a man more aptly named "....not my words but those of a contact who has worked at the highest level of the game ( top two divisions + Europe ) for more than 25 years.

Surely spotting the player is the easy part? He was top scorer in the Spanish second division, any club playing in the second tier in England would surely have been aware of him?

Why have you left out Agustein, Dobbie,Rodreguez, Obika, Lita, Monakana and Andrews

What I am saying is that the spotting of the player and the deal was set up waiting for the passport before Burke arrived.

Trouble is the lickers won't believe this and start the insults

Why would anyone believe anything from an anonymous poster on an Internet forum saying anything with no evidence or facts? That doesn't make them wrong, but why would anyone believe them? How does that make anyone a licker?

Licker = Someone who hasn't the brains to think things for themselves and follows whatever the club says without question

I would say that Ulloa was down to Aranalde who alerted Gus. We know for a fact that Gus went out to Spain several times to watch him whilst Leo waited for his Spanish passport. Aranalde is still our overseas scout.

And what about someone who just believes anything negative they hear on NSC or in the pub, what are they called?
