I'm sorry. But this is just a ridiculous comment. Players like Bridders are the future of Scotland's national team. He had a good solid game and will get plenty more in the future. Plus, as we all know, Gus encourages his players to play at International level.

What is the point of him jetting off and playing for a tin pot country that he has no connection with accept his name, to play against an even tinier tin pot country and then not even getting into the first X1 and sitting on the bench!

That would be Egypt who are the most successful country in African Cup of Nations history and who are in with a good shout of World Cup qualification. Also the country of his father's birth.

It would have made more sense if you were referring to Bridcutt and Scotland.

I can't help but think he's sold himself short by deciding to play for Scotland.

I get why a player like CMS would choose them - the likelihood of him making the jump to a Premier League side is relatively low and making the England team even more so. He's clearly happy playing for Scotland, good for him.

But at no point in his interviews (that I've heard anyway) did Liam ever say what an honor it is to play for Scotland, or how it was a dream of his or anything along those lines - it was about how it was good for him to play international football, good for his career, exciting, new etc etc...

But Liam is so soo good at his role, I really think he's got the potential to be at one of the top half premier league teams within a few years. If he keeps performing the way he is now - so consistently and so well, I don't see why getting into the England team wouldn't be a realistic goal for him.

This is his best chance of gatting to an international tournament. Bridcutt is an amazing player, but it's a stretch to envisage him being one of the 2/3 best English defensive midfielders over the next ten years. Not impossible, but a stretch. it's a sound move for him, IMO.

On an unrelated note, I really hope that the sweaties do well from here on in. I chose to watch them over England last night simply due to LB, but actually quite enjoyed the match. It was a bit like Sunday league madness, but entertaining.

I saw the message on here about there being Liam Bridcutt porn on channel 951 and couldn't get there quick enough.

We are so lucky to have him as our player and he is rapidly becoming one of my favourite Albioners ever. Within a few seconds of switching it on there was a close-up of Bridders organising some clueless "sweaty" into the correct position and then a few moments later there he was making his trademark interceptions, tackles and accurate passes. The thing I liked best was that he clearly felt so confident that in the second half he also took on responsibility for trying to play the killer balls through to the forwards (a couple on the ground and a couple chipped over the top...) - playing for the Albion he leaves that job to the flair boys

Last night was like watching your son playing in a match for the first time and gradually realising that he is actually very good compared to the other boys... made me all gooey.
